Roses Advice: Plant them in summer so that there roots go down in ground and hence they can survive winter. Your neighbours must have planted their roses a long time ago that's why they are not dead.

Lilly, when plants first go into the ground, they go into shock so they need to be extra nurtured meaning more water than usual and more protection from the elements. Once they become establish, then there should be less maintenance. Depending on the plant, that could be months.

Try moving your rose trees to a less windy place and adequate amount of sunlight, the type of white roses you are growing are really sensitive to wind and sunlight (Also a place where it doesn't form any stains on the walls). And since they are in pots you have to water them twice or thrice a week(depending on the size of the pot). And even I had issues with bugs eating my roses, and what I did to get rid of them is to just spray water with force onto the leaves every now and then , also add some rose mix powder or something that you can get in your area and add 1 tablespoon of that powder once a week. It not only puts the bugs away but also makes the roses bigger in size. I love roses so much I bring new ones every month 😂

Roses do like a lot of water and light. Yours, specifically, look like they're getting battered too much by the wind, particularly because they're pruned to have that topiary shape ("rose trees" don't exist). That's likely why they're dropping so many leaves. I'd suggest moving them somewhere more protected from the wind. I'd also suggest "deadheading" dying blooms to prevent petal-dropping and encourage new growth. As for the other young, newly-planted trees/shrubs, they'll need a lot of care whike they are in shock and until they get established, or they won't do well. If you want someone to take care of your plants for you, look into a gardener/horticulturalist. Landscapers plan and layout your landscape in a way that looks nice and works for rain run-off, fire prevention, etc. Depending on the landscape professional, they may not be experts on choosing and caring for specific plants. That's where the gardener/horticulturalist would come in. 😊

Yes, they conned you. First off, Rose bushes require minimal watering, once a week, maybe twice during a drought. They also need regular pruning, about once a month, to stay healthy and flowering. They're also very sensitive to pH of the soil and prefer a relatively acidic pH, around 5. I would suggest using lemon/orange/citrus compost as a supplement to their current soil. Just kitchen scraps will do, and put them as deep in the soil as you can without disturbing the roots. I don't know the temperature there, but it's possible that LA might just be too hot for them to survive. Roses prefer just over room temperature around 25~28C and moderate humidity around 70%. Whoever gave you the roses likely knew all this and if so, conned you. It might also be too chilly up on that balcony because of the wind and killing the roses. They would probably do better on the ground but NOT on the concrete, because concrete absorbs heat/cold and the temperature shock could kill the roses.

Maybe the roses are just going dormant for winter? Do they do that in SoCal? I don't know. Also, you have to deadhead them when the blooms start to die, to encourage more blooms.

Fill a 5 gallon bucket or container large enough to place rose in and let it soak for a day to re-hydrate well. Trim off the rose canes down to 6 to 8 inches long. Remove all leaves as well. Partially fill your pot or can with a good potting soil if you don't have your own mix.

Skin care advise 1: See a dermatologist. Skin care advice 2: Cetaphil... place pump bottles on every sink counter of your home and at work, plus bedside bottle and travel-size in your purse. Step one. Any instance when skin washing is required, before towel drying, apply thin layer of Cetaphil to damp skin... just do it.... gently pat skin dry. On bendy places... coat with Cetaphil on dampened area. Now do that forever.

as a landscaper, yeah, roses dont like being over watered, or underwatered. planting them at this time of year isn't impossible but it should have been done earlier. if the roses were pruned and fed plant feed they should come back next spring. general rule of thumb, you plant/prune plants in spring/early autumn either just before or just after flowering, when the weather is mild or mild for the geographic location.. what your landscapers appear to be doing is just saying yes to you the client instead of "yes, but." because a lot of clients don't want to hear the "but"

I just got off work. And while I don't hate my job, today I needed this. Thanks Lilly. :) And the only thing I can think of for your rose trees is maybe they need more direct sunlight? Just looking at where they are and it's kinda shaded. I don't know really anything about plants, just, y'know - water, good soil, sunlight...photosynthesis (wow, I think I even used that correctly).

*For Skin* : 1. Drink extra 1 litre water than what you used to drink in summers. 2. Right after you take bath, moisturize your damp skin, both body and face. Go from light to heavy. Your skin is damp, apply toner if you do then serum then a moisturizer. Use thick moisturizer at night. yes, moisturize whole body atleast twice a day. 3. Exfoliate less and avoid using soap everyday, yes, again you read that correct. Anywhere you have a chance to have sweat on your body, use mild soap, only water is good for remaining body. 4. Use hydrating face mists. 5. Line your woolen clothes with cotton. 6. Please visit dermatologist if things go real south. love you 😘 *PS* : *I have extremely dry skin too*

For sensitive skin & issues: • What fragrance/moisturizer/lotion do you use regularly? • What soap do you use? Does it have fragrance in it? • What kind of fabric softener/laundry detergent do you use? Does it have fragrance in it? I have sensitive skin ever since we moved to the US. And one pattern I constantly noticed was that, my skin would become extra extra dry and really bad after coming in contact with water. Whether it was on the beach, in the pool, or even after showers/baths. Things I tried that really helped me: - Stop using fragranced soap, lotions, and moisturizers // use ONLY Aveeno, or an organic product that don’t compromise their quality - Stop using soap with harsh chemicals and fragrances // Use gentle soaps & laundry detergents that have no fragrance, organic, and use natural elements with sustainable quality as well - Another suggestion I heard somewhere was: JUST after you step out of the shower, don’t pat yourself everywhere super dry... Just pat gently enough so that nothing is dripping down from your body.... but that there is still SOME water droplets on your skin... I was told this helps locks our bodies’ natural oils and mixes well with the body lotion/moisturizer we put on top. Do it AS SOON AS you get out of the shower, and cover all of your skin areas as much as possible. - Also, when stepping out in short sleeves or any clothing that exposes your particular skin area that is generally hidden, try to use a GOOD QUALITY sunblock product that will help protect your skin from any further damage. Disclaimer: I’m NOT a dermatologist nor a health professional, but TRUST me.... I’ve been battling eczema and skin issues for a VERY long time now (almost 10 years), so I know and can UNDERSTAND how frustrating it must be for you. Especially living in the west coast area, where sun exposure is more than the average American experiences. Wish you all the best! 😇❤️ (Lemme know if these tips worked for the better for you or not)

Firstly, check that your roses arent a special variety bred specifically for high volume blooms. These usually need very specific climate control and settings like in a glasshouse etc. Roses get better nutrition planted in the ground. Plant in winter so the are established by summer. Not sure when the US prunes but we usually do this around the coldest month. Remember to dead head old blooms and remove dropped or diseased leaves. Also move them away from the wind. They are getting battered!

Always double check the species of plants you want, otherwise you're at the mercy of the landscapers. Also, make sure they are going to thrive in the soil that you have, because some bushes and trees don't accept certain types of soil. Also, even if it is warm out there, some trees just naturally go into their hibernation and will return in the spring. But it also sounds like you need some new landscapers. It sounds like they are trying to screw you over so they will get more money as you pay for new plants.

Lilly, Rose bushes need water just about every day you can move them from the windy side and move them to the not so windy side, they do winterize and do go dormant they suppose to food twice a year, once in September, and once again in the Spring", the only reason I know about Rose bushes is my ex-neighbor was a botanist for UBC. or you can phone your local college who is taking botanist courses about plants and do an interview about how to take care of Christmas plants that people can give as a house warming gifts cause you just moved into a house. You can pick gardeners who actually care.

The soil and or season may not be appropriate for some of the plants you have. Feed the soil with some fertilizer and don't over water. Check for pests. Also sometimes if really cheap soil is used it can be full of pesticides and herbicides which will kill plants that are not used to them. Try to find organic soil, compost, fertilizers. hope this helps.

Hi Lilly, CARLA here advice pertaining on your container roses if they used potting soil and not garden soil in your containers that could send your roses in shock to, Lilly trying giving all your roses a drink of seaweed fertilizer that should help them get over the shock of being transplanted that's like giving them a warm glass of milk to calm them down, because fall should have been the best time to plant out roses they shouldn't be dieing on you did they even add amendments to the soil when they transplanted into the soil and you have to be careful not to over water also it will rot out the roots I hope your roses make it 😊 so sorry your having issues your roses are so beautiful I love all flowers and plants

Certain plants and trees are seasonal, so they loose leaves and look like they are done for, but they come back every year bigger and better that's how my muscadine vine is. Now if they are grown in a controlled environment then they may can thrive all year round. But also we are in a hustling time right now, every body who has a job is doing what they can.😉 Lastly, as I say to myself, don't be hard on yourself. Honestly when you showed us your roses my first thought was “it’s gonna die... they planted it the wrong time of year.” I mean they are already grown a bit but... I’m wondering if they got moved into the pot and just moving them probably really disturbed them. If you are unhappy with your landscapers they are a dime a dozen. Find someone who really cares and will tell you no. These people won’t tell you no because they know you have the money so if it dies “meh but another one” I appreciate ya! cinder which is basically small ricks you should mix them in the soil and then plant your roses. it gives them a better chance to survive and grow. i dont think you've to water them everyday. include ALUM mixed in water in 15 days. you need to check if your plant 's soil is damp enough from the inside becuase it may look damp on the surface but it can be dry af from the inside, so put your finger in it like you check if a cake is baked or not and see if its dam. that way you can be sure if or not you need to water it. Hope Your roses survive one love team super

For your face, a heavy unscented moisturizer that you can layer on is great. Tatcha/kiehls that sort of stuff. After you take your make up off at night, put on a heavy layer and the skin looks better. For your body: shea butter, coconut oil atleast once a week. Also your shower water may be too hot which also leads to dry skin no matter how much you moisturize.

I agree! I started using Cerave about three months ago and it's amazing. I'm from the uk though and I find it cheaper to buy online than in the shops.

For ashy elbows, coconut oil mixed with jergens intense repair lotion works wonders, it’s what helped me and my sisters once for all. Also, your landscapers looked Latino, a lot of stuff can be lost in translation with you and with the place where they got their plants from. Have a little patience, there’s this miracle gro plant food spikes you can use. It’s most likely they need to be replanted with better soil, loamy soil is best as it will ensure your plants get enough oxygen, water and nutrients to survive.

Honey and baking soda is a good exfoliator. I use it on my hands in the winter. Mix it together, rub it on, leave it for about a 10 mins and then wash it off, twice a day. And I'm sorry about the roses❤🌹

For your elbows exfoliate and then hydrate. I use the exfoliating Korean mitt the green ones. Not every day and don’t over do it or it will burn. I use buffy from lush when I don’t use the exfoliating mitt. And for lotion I use the Lush dream cream.

You need to protect the roses from the wind and you are probably a lot better off having them planted in the ground and have a timed watering system. It needs about 15 minutes night and morning so that the water goes deep and spreads around the roots which radiate out from the plant as well as going down. When they are in a pot like that they are going to get dried up by both the sun and wind. There is a lot of straightforward information on the internet about care for roses and ideal growing conditions.

I noticed today, the first thing I do after waking up is watching the daily vlogmas. It's weird, but it feels great to start your day with her positive and encouraging vibes😊❤️💜

For moisturizing your skin, you might try layering your moisturizers. When you get out of the shower, don't dry off completely. You don't want to be soaking wet, but still damp. On damp skin, use a Hyaluronic Acid gel (The Chemistry Brand has a Hyaluronic Concentrate gel for hands and body that is great). Then use a moisturizer on top that has an occlusive to seal in the moisture (Bioderma's Atoderm Intensive Balm is great). Hope that helps!

Your roses are okay! They look good to me, the wind is battering them though so maybe move them so battle the wind :) but they look okay. They are resilient plants.

Skin crust advice : use thick lotion like nivea blue color cream. For elbow apply boroline or vaseline jelly and for face use clinique dramatically hydrating moisturizer

Lilly look for the moisturizing butters! Shea butter or Cocoa butter. Cocoa butter has a stronger smell but both will kill the dryness! Also, I'm no expert on roses, but always thought they needed direct sunlight. Your trees seem covered on the balcony. Were your bushes out on your property in the shade? I would go to your local nursery to get more info than the landscapers are providing. ❤️

For the skin issue, you need to use a hydrating lotion, not just an emollient like an oil or thick cream. Or if its really bad a hyaluronic acid serum before your lotion to lock in the hyration.
