They aren't that great tbh. Loose housings, average stem wobble and extremely loose leaves.

also they were a pain to solder in, I'm watching the stream and damn they flop right off the pcb. this board might need a removable aligment plate like the geon w1-at if you're not gonna use cherry mx.

@@fnvfanMSPR I like my HG Whites, I just soldered them in around 2 weeks ago and I think that although the leaf is loose it wasn't terrible. Stem wobble to me is good (similar to my oilkings and better than browns). Not bad for the price.

Yeah at this price point it needs top plate configuration options. Vertex and the Arc60 did it right.

Doesn't work with the LEDs. This was designed specifically for HHKB.

QK60 also has a design made to be cheap to manufacture, is a plate mount only keyboard, has a significantly smaller back weight, uses a cheaper coating/ano method (doesn't mean it's bad), doesn't have a solder PCB option... Apples to oranges.

It's a GOK board. It won't have the huge MOQ of Q60. It went through multiple iterations of prototype. Has a SS bottom. The side curves are not easy to machine . Therefore the price.

This is in no way overpriced. As @subho1766 mentioned, the board doesn't have a huge MOQ like the Q60. It also has more expensive machining and materials (SS, curved side profiles, etc.). Even if you don't like the design of the Lily, therefore, its manufacturing process and scale makes its price justifiable. Gok isn't making insane margins on this or anything. He's just a small albeit well known and liked designer from new zealand. However, there's another question here - whether or not the material cost is justified by manufacturing, is this board worth getting over QK60 boards for somebody who has a full time job and can afford it (i.e. who isn't 12)? Yes. This is obviously incredibly subjective, but QK boards have a design that's cheap, minimalist and tacky. The Lily has real artistry and design put into it - it's not made to be a mass produced and sold board. It's a unique artistic object with an extremely niche design element, curvey side profiles that've been done in a particularly unique way. It's okay not to personally want or value this board. But don't make universal judgements about how it's "overpriced" for all people and how there's "nothing to justify" getting this keyboard over a QK board. Sounds to me like you're some techbro that watches endless phone or graphic cards videos and sees technology in this straightforwards value-based way where you can compare what piece of tech has better 'specs'. Custom keyboards are analogue and they're art. There's not always going to be a 'best' keyboard because they artistically differ in style and sound. I've seen this anti-designer board mentality rise and it's a bit worrying: more access to cheaper boards is good, but if you shit on the designer side of the hobby then you're going to end up with big corporations pumping out the same non-personalized shit and kill the smaller designer scene.
