Jams and Jellies are not the same thing they're similar though (yes jam is interchangeable with jelly as an option) yes you can pan fry a PB&J like a grilled cheese . Also the PB Sandwich combos are as followed; PB&J, PB&Banana, PB&fluff , PB&Banana+Fluff.

"America is rubbish at chocolate." She's absolutely right, and I say this as an American. My mom's friend was from England and she would send us over chocolate and candy from the U.K. all the time and it was a million times better than what we have here.

100 % agree about our chocolate. When o was on the UK, even the kit kats were amazing. England's chocolate doesn't leave a film on the roof of your mouth.

*I flew back to NY last night from London and had allll the fixings. I loved it! Had the Gregg's sausage roll, Steak & Bake, fish and chips, fell in like with Marmite, Cadbury creme eggs, Jammy Dodgers, monster munch, sunday roast, Branston pickle, Irn Bru and more! It was definitely a trip of firsts!*

I agree wirh american chocolate being dry its like australia has a kinda waxy chocolate and i think its because of how hot it is in those countries that the chocoate is different where as uk is usually bloody cold so we dont have to worry about adding anything else to it

Wish there had been one American there to explain to her that even in American vernacular, jelly is distinct from jam (which I know is confusing for Brits 'cause jelly means something else to them so, they always think jelly is our word for jam but, it's not). I don't know if they specifically used jam or jelly on that sandwich (should've been jelly just to be a more traditional PB&J) but, jelly, jam, and preserves are all distinct foods over here. They're all similar enough to be used on a peanut butter sandwich but... all made very differently with different textures.

Jelly is made from fruit juice and jam from crushed fruit!

Jelly: Jelly is made with strained fruit juice. There are no pieces of fruit in jelly. Jam: Jam is made with mashed fruit. Preserves: Preserves have whole fruit or large pieces of fruit.
