Christ, is this song really 14 years old? It's still one of the freshest songs out there!

I like how brutally honest and unapologetically truthful she is. She's not trying to sell herself under an exaggerated image or have an alter ego, she is just spitting facts about life in this modern age and its so relatable.

I miss her type of artist. A songstress with a mellow and sweet voice but with lyricisms that pack a symphony of sarcasm, viciousness, and truth that one might fail to notice at first because of how sweet and casual she is singing it. She’s like that rebellious girl who doesn’t try too hard. Love her a lot.

For all you none Brits, "I'll look at The Sun and I'll look in the Mirror" are two British newspapers for anyone who's unaware. One of my favourite lines of the whole song, very clever

It's 2018...10 years later this song feels more relatable than ever...what a shame

When you look at our modern world today, this song ages insanely well for 2008 standards. It's satire on women who want to be rich and famous without even deserving it, that all they have to do is strip down for the cameras, and get into trouble on the news. These women also want to spend their credit cards away on luxury like cars and diamonds (while not even caring about what happens to those who mine diamonds just for her to spend 10,000 dollars on), despite not knowing how to even stop spending. And Lily says that these women become surrounded by fake beauty so much, they can't tell what's real anymore ("I don't know what's right and what's real anymore, and I don't know how I'm meant to feel anymore"). And she'll never know when the public will stop dismissing this stuff as normal and actually open up about it ("And when do you think it will all become clear, because I'm being taken over by the fear"). I'm very strict with what kind of pop music I accept. And this here has to be by far one of the best forgotten/underrated pop songs made. And no one really took this seriously back in 2009, that the issue of fake fame and consumerism is now double worse today than what it was back then.

I think that Lily Allen is one of the cleverest songwriters in the British pop scene, writing for a British audience. I mean how many Americans hearing the song would know that the "Sun and the Mirror" is referring to two specific British tabloid newspapers? Genius.

I discovered her because I found an iPod of a recovering addict who’s playlist was very sad yet moving and this was one of the songs. I was like 11 im 24 now and damn Lily was right about a lot.

My English teacher showed my class this song (I'm not a native speaker). She gave us parts of the lyrics and we had to complete them. It was a bit hard because of Lily's strong accent, but it was fun. Later, I accidentally found her song Smile on KZfaq. I became her fan.

The creative concepts behind all her music videos are so underrated. She’s such a genius when it comes to creating a mystical world that reflects her music.

The world, the song and I have grown a decade and a half older, and things are just getting worse, nobody is paying even the slightest bit of attention to it, and I fear that Ben Elton’s description of near future society in his book “Dead Famous” is likely to be more fact than fiction…
