Thanks for the info. It helps a lot to know how the dampeners worked on your bow. By the way Im very impressed with how you drew that 87 pond bow back. Keep up the good content.

No problem keep looking for new videos this season

Here's my thoughts, you got nearly the same decibels on both sets, I'm wondering if the reading was more off of the arrow slapping upon impact being so close and indoors?

Great test, you pulled that 87 lbs pretty easy. Well done

Watching the video i was going to recommend the string silencers... but you mentioned them at the end. I really liked the felt string silencers ones years ago. idk if anyone uses them anymore I don't see them often, and the old rubberband style stringy ones I only see on used equipment being sold from the past usually. It probably isn't true but i always felt the limb savers or dampeners did help. If you are pulling 87lbs it isn't going to matter in a hunting situation though... a deer would be hard pressed to jump that vs a lower poundage unless perhaps it is an extreme distance over 75 yards in my humble opinion.
@theurbanarcher1896 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Yes your right ,a deer will have a hard time jumping the string on my bow at 87lbs. The reason I'm attempting to silence the bow a little is for a possibility of a miss. If the bow is quiet I may have a opportunity for a follow up shot by not spooking the deer . Thanks for watching and keep plugging away!

I saw/heard same with ILF recurve with dampers vs none

oh thanks for waiting for me to finish liking and subscribing lol. that prime looks sick! 87.5lb? would be nice if it a solid 90lb number lol.

87lbs??? Holy Hulk Shit!!!! I just ordered the split limb version because the factory rubbers won't stay on. Thanks for the insight. Curious to know if you've chronographed the fps of your bow?
@theurbanarcher18963 жыл бұрын
Hey Wus up thanks for the support! Actually i did try to chrono the bow with those libs but the one I used was malfunctioning so I wasn’t getting accurate speeds. I recently changed the limbs back to 60lbs for 3D season so it’s hitting at 280 now with heavy ass arrows . Hey man keep watching and ‘ keep plugged away’

I hate it when my rubbers don’t stay on 😝

I wonder if the censor on the meter was picking up the arrow impact?
@theurbanarcher1896 Жыл бұрын
Possible but unlikely. I was shooting into a black hole target. They are made with soft foam and make very little noise on impact.
@bbmas193010 ай бұрын
Put these on my Elite Enlist with a pair of monkey tails in place of the standard winners choice string leeches and the bow went from a clatterer to just making a dull thump. Even had guys I shoot with noticing and commenting on how quiet my bow was.
@theurbanarcher189610 ай бұрын
I know they definitely have an effect. I recommend them to most people with loud bows to quiet them down a lil. It definitely does more for the vibration in the hand but u can totally notice a difference in the sound too.

Have you tried any of the split limb dampeners?

No sorry I haven't.

I enjoyed your video. I dont know your indoor setup so i might just be a smartass. Maybe they make more of a difference outside because the acoustics inside are really weird. Most of the volume might be coming from the target/arrows noise being reflected off the walls and actually overpowering the noise made by the bow itself.
@theurbanarcher18963 жыл бұрын
Hey bro thanks for the comment. That is definitely possibility. That’s why both before and after we’re shot in the same spot . If they work it will change simple as that even if there’s some funny acoustics the level should decrease wthe dampened
@theurbanarcher18963 жыл бұрын
Your not a smart ass u just made a observation and I thank u for the input ! Always helps to get different ideas on why something works or not .

Thanks to your review ill give them a try too. And while im here ill leave a sub too ;) Have a nice Sunday

I don't shoot those pully toys, I only shoot traditional recurve or longbows, and yes they work, I notice especialy on ILF setups.
@theurbanarcher18968 ай бұрын
We are all in the archery family no matter what u shoot. It's all about the stick and string. It all takes time and skill. I shoot both but I hunt with compounds. I don't find it to be more easy just different. Thanks for the comment . Keep on plugging away!

I wonder what would happen If you put one inside and out, for 4 dampeners total
@theurbanarcher18962 жыл бұрын
That is a great question. I can only imagine that it would definitely dampen the libs even more , 🤔 I also think it will slow down the bow a bit as well .
@justmeva2 жыл бұрын
Would heavier stabilizers work as well?
@theurbanarcher18962 жыл бұрын
Well in a way yes . I have noticed a difference in my bow with more weight on the bars also longer bars help a lil too. They send some of the shock out away from the bow. Hope this helps.

Dont overthink this like this fella u need no tape an no markers only alcohol an then place ur index finger at the begining of the v in the end of the limb so ur pad should be 1 finger space away from that v or in this bows case rite on the other side of that line

Without saying homie I'm not a hater I love that ur into compound archery.i would have suggested a variety of stabilizers that are made to do what the limbsavers do
@theurbanarcher18966 ай бұрын
Bro whatever..... U trolling my video. If u were on what u say u would have made some friendly suggestions, not tell my viewers not to do what I did. Make your own content or scroll to the next video! simple as that. No need to troll other people for likes guy. If u have info then share it on your own channel.

Good video. I think your draw length is to short. You are leaving your head forward when you draw back and with a thumb release, your ancor should be your jaw line or ear lob.
@theurbanarcher1896 Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks. That problem has been corrected. But thanks for the input. Keep plugging away . !!!!
@theincredible9168 Жыл бұрын
@THE URBAN ARCHER My local bowshop had me set up that same way. I couldn't get consistent shots at all. I finally went to another bow shop where my draw length went from 27 to 28" draw and got my bow tuned. What a difference.

An u are the authority on what's correct rite? U obviously have way to much time on your hands to be trolling my videos. Why don't u make a video and show me how it's done .
@MrChinkman372 жыл бұрын
Your test is inconclusive because of bad test environment. You are in a small enough space where the impact of your arrow makes 87.8 decibels and your close enough where that microphone is going to pick that up no problem. You need to repeat your test in an open area where you can shoot 20 yards away so that way you do not pick up the sound of the impact of the arrow. Others have done similar tests and it is a resounding YES! THEY WORK GREAT! They reduce the amplitude and length of the sound, And they also reduced vibration which improves accuracy and gives you a more comfortable feel because there is less hand shock.
@theurbanarcher18962 жыл бұрын
Hey j dub u may have a point or not . Either way u can make a video with all the different parameters u feel are needed and post it . I'll be sure to watch. As always thanks for the support a d keep pluggin away.....
