I live in zone 9a Florida have 2 jubilation gardenias clearance finds from last spring growing in 2 large white pots they smell divine first time in bloom since was on life support when purchased. I'll be on the lookout now for a tree. Last week scored 4 white wedding hydrangeas from Lowes half prize on clearances only need watering full sun too excited about planting. What type of soil u use?

You state that the Gardenia Tree needs to come inside during the cold. In NC we keep them out year round even with freezing temperatures. They always do fine. Is yours a different variety?

I bought a 100 dollar monrovia gardenia similiar size as yours and SOMEBODY accidentally applied an acid solidifier! It burnt the leaves and starting to die..but then that same SOMEBODY applied some gardenia fertilizer and its starting to come alive..whew
