Limestone Campground is one of several campgrounds situated along the banks of the Kern River, in the Sequoia National Forest. This campground stood out to us from most of the others we visited along the Kern in that campground is not built on a flat near the river bottom, but rather above the river, up on a hill. So from some sites, you get an amazing perspective looking down on the river.
The sites look pretty level to us, so the hilly nature is not a concern here, at least not from our drive thru perspective.
Admittedly, our technique of filming can be a bit challenging when sites are downhill and far away from the street, but even that said, if you look carefully, you can discern the placement of tables and fire rings for most, if not all sites.
The only thing we can't see is what does access down to the river look like from those sites?
We also liked that this is a slightly smaller campground than some of them. The only minor gripe is some of the sites in the main thoroughfare of the campground near the beginning are very close together, but perhaps a tradeoff is the cool and exquisite shade those sites get.
Hard to say without spending a night!
