this game is the definition of a liminal space, you can build the biggest city, tallest tower, deepest cave, it doesnt matter, you will be the only one t walk in those halls, or will you? This factor completely goes away when you play multiplayer, but i think this is the main factor of my fear of being alone in big houses or big rooms or something, a lot more room for someone else to be hiding in the shadows watching..

Liminal minecraft is the game at its best. It’s partly nostalgia talking for sure, but I’ve really come to love the lonely atmosphere. Imo most recent updates are very smart, but the insanely high structure generation nowadays undermines it all. It’s such a vibe killer to find villages every which way. Like girl at least give us better world customization

Honestly the recreations of well known liminal spaces don't have the same vibe as the originals. They don't really give off much menace or nostalgia. However, the spaces that are original and exclusive to Minecraft definitely have the right vibe. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Minecraft liminal spaces are very different from typical liminal spaces, and mixing the two makes the final product less impactful

Everybody here has experienced liminal space before. That’s when all your friends get off of your world and you’re about to leave, but you’re just left with nothing but yourself.

The thing with Minecraft is that people have clinged onto the myth of Herobrine ever being real in the older versions, and because of his legacy as a creepypasta from early Minecraft becoming somewhat of a horror icon, its created and influenced alot of uneasiness/eeriness in Minecraft to this day. I cant really say this game personally makes me feel genuinely scared or ever has because it’s overall really supposed to be a relaxing, pleasant game. Ive found myself more in awe whenever i find a vast cave that yes might be dark enough to be jumped by skeletons and creepers, but still get the feeling of amazement and how beautiful Minecraft can be with its world generation.

I still remember when I was a child, because of a server delay bug, a cross-shaped patch of dirt appeared in my house. There were even footsteps echoing in my house (later I found out it was just a squid). However, the administrator said that there were no player records of it. At that time, I even thought Herobrine had visited my house. so I moved out quickly.

Creepy and warm,bcz thats the favourite thing in my childhood.i was limited by my parents for only can play one hour pc once a week and i always play Minecraft. no graphics card,just a premium CPU and 2gb ram pc. I build a big building with only stonebrick and, it's weird nowadays. To be honest, when I open some old worlds, they make me uneasy, but they also make me feel familiar, make me remind that ages. I am actually i,but i m no longer am i. That feeling is just like I'm drowning in honey, sweet death.

Whenever i build cities or towns for myself in flat world or survival, i always tend to just bring villagers in to not make myself feel alone
