With nothing more than a noise source and a thermocouple you too can get pretty accurate power limiter settings! If you don't have a full day to spare, though, you can get pretty close by using this one simple trick I demonstrate.

True power setting in Powersoft will take the impedance into account so each driver got 75 W , total power per enclosure was 150 W. So 1/4 the AES RMS power from the sheet

My 18ds115-4 motors have seen direct sun whilst playing at war volume. Pretty crazy how much they’ve handled after all these years! 100% go to brand and driver for me

Nice test and good advice. but a little bit general, it would still be possible to burn the tested woofers with less power if you feed them some sine wave or music with low crest factor around tuning frequency. Best would be if the amp could measure the impedance change caused by the rising temperature and limit the speaker depending on it. that would include everything also a hot environment. Anyway most amps out there even still have no true power limiting.
