That’s what I’m saying, like the part behind Fred’s verses (the one he’s playing at 3:21) just does something that absolutely captivates my primitive ape brain. I can’t get enough of it, and is honestly why I’m here

Great cover, one of my all time favourite guitar driven songs, beautiful tone on the verses by Wes. Especially how the verse tone is juxtaposed to the heavy whammy driven intro tone.

I wish people would stop teaching this like it’s a beginner song, and just teach it like it’s a quick reference for the pros. This is the closest video to what I just described!

This is a free lesson on KZfaq that is targeted to everyone. If I would just blast true it it could help the advanced player visually sure, but it would be useless for the players who ain't there yet technically. In other words... this lesson is not a tailored lesson for a specific individual.

@@jorisguitars maybe MY WAY is a beginner song but even that riff he doesn’t after the intro leading to the chorus isn’t for beginners. 🤷🏽‍♂️

@@Kiddsworld66 there is no golden standard for a "beginner song". I teach guitar for more than 7 years. You have to look at the individual to find out what song would fit him/her as a beginner. Find out what are his/her strong and weak points are and move on from there. Your comment involves your own personal view and experience, don't confuse that with someone elses. Again this is NOT a personal lesson, and if you don't like it, simply fast forward and work at it at your own paste.

Love the lesson, thank you. I notice your volume is all over the place. Your voice is super quiet and the music is super loud, makes it really difficult to understand what you're saying. Would be cool if you could edit and level that out that for the next video.

Thanks! Yes it is something I have to figure out (I use a cheap video editor where I couldn't find audio volume settings, but I'm sure I have to fiddle around with it more).

Do you think there is a difference in the sound between tuning to drop c and using a digital solution? I imagine the strings are much tighter at e standard than drop c so I wonder how that effects it?

It would feel different under the fingers, might sound a little fatter with bigger strings. But imo not worth it to adjust a guitar just for one song 😉

The little bridge part at 6:21 mark, it also has high strings playing in the background, do you think this is a seperate guitar overdub by Wes using a different guitar? Or maybe a guitar sample thrown in by DJ Lethal? I think it sounds like it was composed by Wes specifically for the song, maybe using a different guitar and settings. I love the dimensional effect this has on the song. Let me know what you think about this specific background string part. Thanks 👍

Can you tell me the name of the gear you are using to tune your guitar down whitout tuning it down ? I really need it.

Hi, everything used for amps/fx/downtuning is done with the FM3. You could also buy for example the NDSP Mesa that has a very easy to use drop fuction.
