I love Taufiks attitude. What ever rally he wins, excellent points he scores. he keeps so cool, silent and no actions. You can see that this attitude even influenced the great Lin Dan.

@@muhamadrizal4 As I said, you can still celebrate your points without offending anyone. Shouting is not one of them. No player is not exhilarated after winning a long rally, thus, he is dishonest at times on his reactions just to maintain a “good sportsmanship” by viewers’ definition.

I agree. We had Yang Yang, Zhao, Arbi, Hoyer and then Sun Jun. After Sun Jun, men’s singles sort of went downhill a bit for three or four years before these two came up, then Lee Chong Wei, then Chen Long.

I think Taufik Hidayat's peak years are between 2001-2006, when he was physically the best & still having plenty of motivation. After that, nagging knee injury and being indifferent/lack of motivation really hampered his carreer. TH is no where near Lin Dan natural athleticism, but boy when he was in his peak, he can combine it with skills that arguably one of the best to be the top player of the world.

Iya betul . Tapi di babak pertama dia banyak membuat umpan kepada lindan sehingga membuat keteteran sendiri . Dan di babak kedua Taufik bermain main, namun lindan sudah tau gaya bermain Taufik dan sudah menemukan cara efisien dan cepat untuk mematikan ,seperti pukulan Drive dan oleh lindan di smash silang drive

42:16 I totally agree with the commentator description of how amazing a player LD is. No player could ever drop a racket right in the middle of a rally, taking his eye off the opponen's shot for a moment, recover the racket to return the shot and then went on to win the rally under a tournament match condition, not practice.

Taufik Hidayat has a great character. He is calm,relax and cool and charismatic. For technical, he has no doubt. Because his personality he deserves became the true champion. He is the true champion, no doubt. For physical problem, indeed after 2007 he is turn down..

Previously I watch this with my high school generation ...and now it has been 8years ago...time pass really really fast ... I miss the old time of the most pinnacle era of badminton so much and I really miss this 2 legend .. everything about taufik is beautiful,no matter how many others players won get medal but when taufik playing the game everyone just really have fun coz he play badminton with art,his footwork,defens,backhands,net play its all beautiful.. not like others which only keep smashing to get point and win the game...the era taufik/susi susanti/rexy etc. badminton just really beautiful game different while chiness dominated the badminton all i see its about smashing and sometimes just make bored,taufik now being legend coz of his talents,doesn't matter how many others won and get medal,until now nobody can beat his talent #sorrybadenglish

Har yanti. What you try to say here? You mean lin dans game is boring? Manny times its not cause you dont smash, its because you dont get the chance. Taufik smash as much as lin dan, but his smash cant score points like lin. That prove he is weaker in that department. Funny when player smashes, the whole stadim screams, yet call it boring. Lol

@@vitorlam9046 Taufik is most overrated He is no where near as good as lcw. They are about same age but peak in different time, but if compare 2004-2006 taufiks peak vs 2008-2016 lcws peak, we can clearly see the game differrence in speed, defends, offensive, pace, and everything else Taufik on top of world from 2004-2006. Lcw 2008-2018. 3years compare to 10 years. Lcw was replcing taufik as lin dan real rivals. Thats say everthing.

Taufik Hidayat prime is 1999-2007, on his prime the head to head between him and LD and LCW is 3-2, and 7-2. LD prime is 2008-2014. Unfortunetly Taufik still play until 2013 he retired. If seper series era begin earlier i think Taufik could achieve alot of achievement than anybody. Fortunetly, super series era begin in LD and LCW prime, thats why both of them won so many trophy. For example, In TH prime, WC held every 3 and then 2 years, but since 2007 WC held every year 😆

Not really, Taufik's prime is much shorter, about 2001-2005, while Lin Dan's broadly-speaking prime is around 2006-2014. Taufik declined too early and too quickly while Lin Dan's consistency is out of this world.

before SS was held in 2007 there was an open tournament, and Taufik could only have a maximum of 2-3 titles per year even in his prime (1999-2006) and LD in 2004-2006 was able to win 5-6 titles per year, so an argument "if SS held during taufik prime no one can achieve alot of trophy than TH" is not valid. And during his prime taufik appeared in 5 WC (1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006) and only 1 won one time on the other side LD from 2006-2013 appeared in 6 WC and won 5x, so once again not valid. So the point is Taufik even in his prime never as consistent as lin dan.

that's not true, TH is good but it must be admitted that he is still under LD he is not as consistent as LD, after TH won in the final of the Asian games against LD in 2006 it was TH can control the game from LD, but the next match after the final there was a unilateral massacre which what LD did to TH, LD was too strong for LCW and TH we have to admit that, so it's not surprising that from 2006-2014 all major events were wiped out by LD, LCW and TH are good, but LD is without a doubt the best of all time

actually，Gade and Taufik are the same generation as dongjiong and sunjun. In China，xiaxuanze and jixinpeng are next gen，then came baochunlai and lindan. it means，lindan is two generation younger than Gade and Taufik.

Taufik is effortlessly badminton player, so many controversy in his personal life... but still he is the best as a natural badminton player ever. Look his cool playing style and his foot work, even we can see when he shoot the shuttle ... cool, if he has good fitness train and less controversy as PG, LD and LCW. May he can compete much better than what we can saw in the past.

Everytime I feel the need to be inspired on the topic on backhand plays, I come back to this game and rewatch Mr. Backhand at work. btw. I think the desperation backhand clear by Taufik during the altercation that starts at 19:56 is one of the most crazy backhand shots. Totally out of position and outplayed he clears it to the other backline... how is this even possible, CRAZY

That can be say to any players. Chen long's prime 2004-2006 he beat everyone Lcw prime 2009-2016 he can beat everyone Lin dans prime 2003-2016 he can beat everyone. Axelsons to form, He beat everyone in 2017 Shirkant top form in 2017, he beat everyone too.

@@highsu7124 are you drunk? Chen Long 2004 2006? And taufik in lin dan prime beated lin dan in final world champion 2005. Taufik beated again Lin dan in final Asian Games Doha 2006. Taufik rank at that time is 12. And Lin Dan is number one.

@shikyotaichou thanks for info- so for recreational players like me who play for fitness, which racquets should we buy considering that the Voltric 80 and Z force may be expensive. I currently use Li Ning Windstorm 680 ( mostly) and Yonex Muscle power 23( standby)

Entahlah. Gua pikir Lin Dan tu sebenernya yakin bisa menang lebih cepet kalau mau maen agresif. Tapi pertandingan dengan Taufik Hidayat terlalu berharga untuk dilewatkan begitu saja. Semacam ingin nostalgia masa muda mungkin. Wkwk I believe that Lin Dan knows that he could win faster if he played aggresively. But he may thought that playing with Taufik is too precious, he should enjoy the game. Its kind of nostalgic.

Justru pelatih yg kaya gtu bikin pemain kurang disiplin. Kaya Arsene Wenger yg terlalu baek sama pemainya, harusnya Kaya Alex Ferguson tau kapan musti baik tau kapan musti galak hahaha
