Watching this show for the first time. It’s unrealistic for the audience to accept don and this woman whom we even hardly know let alone don. For him to be so connected to her in a short time with no character build up is probably why this was the last season.

I agree. I think the character of the waitress was the most obvious plot flaw in the entire series. Nothing about her attitude seemed like it would be attractive to Don’s character and her rejection of him made no sense whatsoever in that he represented the solution to all of her problems.
