Aaron Neville is New Orleans born and made. He started to sing when he was in Catholic school. He went on to form a band named the Neville Brothers. I e of the brothers has passed now and Aaron is not in the best of health. We have an s nual music festival here the last weekend if April and the first week in May and is called Jazz Fest. The Neville Brothers always closed the show at the Fest. If you want to have even more of a reaction try to find Aaron singing Ave Maria Acapella.

I grew up straight up traditional country, and had never heard this song until it was played at my cousin's wedding. I have never forgotten it. It sent chills up my spine back then -- at age 17 -- and still does now 33 years later. It's no wonder this one won a Grammy.

They won a Grammy for this in 1990 and then another one in 1991 called “All My Life”. Aaron and Linda are magical together as a duet. They were not a couple but knew one another for many years before this duet. They also did an album together where they collaborated on more than a few songs.

These are two of my all time favorite singers! Love them singing together! I’ve heard three different stories about the two of them…that they were briefly a couple; that they were just the best of friends; and that Linda’s label didn’t think her fans would like seeing them together and specifically forbade her to stand close to him when performing together. If that last one is true, she obviously showed them what she thought about that! 😆😆😆

More choices for Aaron are "The Grand Tour" (cover of George Jones - live at Georges tribute concert), another duet with Trisha Yearwood "I Fall to Pieces" (cover of Patsy Cline) or another spine chiller "Crazy Love" (from the movie "Phenomenon.") OK, this is a little sneaky, but I am compelled to let you all know. I saw Ronstadt in 1973 at the Cellar Door in DC. I saw her many, many times over the years. For me, she is one of the greatest vocalists in pop music history. When illness took her career away 10 years ago, I resigned myself to listening to her on KZfaq, Spotify, etc. Three weeks ago, I took a chance and drove 120 miles to Philadelphia to hear Tristan McIntosh and "The Linda Ronstadt Experience". Tribute shows usually consist of a singer choosing music from the artists song list and just singing. I promise you, this is something different. Tristan almost inhabits Linda. Close your eyes and she takes you back in time. While much of the KZfaq postings lack quality, look around and you will find enough to know bliss. Go see her if you can. The group is touring now. The next day, we went to brunch with two young ladies, 22 and 24. When we told them who we saw the previous night, they looked at us with blank stares. They had NEVER HEARD OF LINDA RONSTADT! Folks, please, please try to introduce your children and your grandchildren to the magic of Linda Ronstadt before there are none of us left to carry her torch.

You should read Linda’s Wikipedia page. She has pretty much done it all. Unfortunately, she revealed that she had Parkinson’s disease and can no longer sing a note. Her diagnosis was later changed to Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. It’s really sad to not be able to hear her magnificent voice.

I'm going to try 'quote' a regular subscriber, debbiechang, who submits a lot of information to the reaction sites. I hope I get it right. This performance was live, yes, at the Grammys. Apparently, Aaron was incredibly nervous about this performance and the nomination for a grammy. Linda held back on a lot of her vocals in order to give Aaron the 'limelight'. She did her best to try and make him comfortable, which I think shows with all of her smiles during the performance. And, no, they were not romantically involved. Just good friends. In fact, when they won the grammy that night, Linda had to remind Aaron during their acceptance speech, to acknowledge his wife, because he was so nervous, he forgot.
