Listening to Linda in this interview makes me LOVE HER EVEN MORE - - - if that is even possible. imo No other female singer comes close to her ability to make a song just ZING. She could make you happy one minute then make you cry the next. Female singers today - 1990 to now (2020) - are mere shadows of those singers from BEFORE VOICE ALTERING TECHNOLOGY and lip synching on stage. Close seconds to LINDA RONSTADT from yesteryear are (imo) BARBRA STREISAND, BETT MIDLER (spelling?), KAREN CARPENTER and who?

Linda was truly one of kind. No one thinks like her and lord knows no one could sing like her. A rare bird in the superstar celebrity swamp. She walked away by choice from the hype - more interested in the songs she wrapped those pipes around. She's still unusual and had an effect on men and boys and gals back in the day that seemed so natural and unforced. That is why she remains beloved by fans and fellow musicians.
@unamckillen71259 жыл бұрын
Your comment so, for me, sums her up; so accurate. She was one of a kind. She was quirky and loved the songs she sang more than anything. She was beautiful and, as I said to my brother the other night, she was on the road for 10 years so, of course, there were men; possibly more than the average. She did not marry her high school boyfriend and stay in Tucson so she had relationships. As she once said herself, "women are not quite so ready to "take up the slack" with anyone who passes through the dressing room". (I think she was possibly referencing The Eagles as men who do.) Still, she must have got lonely and may, every now and again have "taken up the slack." If she did, none of those men are talking and all her fellow musicians really respect her (Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Andrew Gold etc etc) At heart she was a woman who loved music, really liked other women and was a loyal friend and wanted to be a mother (she made that happen without a man). I hugely admire her.

@@frankmisaege3520 Lucky you. She has always enunciated very well but I saw a brief clip of Linda singing in Spanish and she looked like she was moving her mouth around the words EXTRA conscientiously. idk. ?? btw Everybody mentions her big beautiful eyes and her great legs. But I am mesmerized by her gorgeous mouth. Her teeth are so perfect and THOSE RED LIPS! So sexy. So tempting. So luscious. Emmmm 💜🎼🎵🎶

She has a quirky intelligent, fun personality--another dimension!! Very smart!! Not a diva-refreshing!! Her nerdy fun voice so different from her belter singer personality.

I sat through the entire interview just kind of mesmerized. Agree, her speaking voice is almost frail compared with how she sings. Never really heard her talk but she is fascinating to listen to.

When I started collecting records back in the early/mid-70s my local record store posted regular poll survey results and best female vocalist was almost always Linda Ronstadt. Sometimes Olivia Newton John, but otherwise it was just Linda Linda Linda, and I couldn't have agreed more. What a voice!

Well, it can be unfair for sure. But Linda admitted that she used to do hardcore drugs back in the day, and this is no doubt what has destroyed her beautiful brain...
