In over 50 years of music since I first heard her, Linda Rondstadt still has for me the most beautiful, most moving voice of any female singer, ever.

I look back now, and I'm so grateful to have grown up with this stuff. There was so much talent around back then, I guess I was spoiled and didn't realize how special it all was at the time.

I was at this concert. My sister took me because her date canceled. I was 11. One of my best memories. I lost my sister many years ago but i still have this memory.

When I was 8 years old, I would take my parents Linda Rondstat albums out, put them on the turn table and let them play. And stare at the photos of this beautiful songbird on the lo in-sleeves because she was my very first crush.

Unlike many of today's female singers, Rondstadt doesn't rely on frilly vocal gymnastics. She sings the songs straight and strong, bold and beautiful. No ostentatious show to serve self but always there in her simple, cute, humble way to serve the song. An Amazing talent and singular beauty. Special.

Her music had authentic roots, and well defined melodies and rhythm that are so often missing now. Her voice had natural richness and clarity that would have made artificial enhancement just useless.

I was blessed to have seen her play live, way back in 1977 with The EAGLES and JACKSON BROWNE for my very first concert. I still have my ticket stub, and I will NEVER forget that day. I was 16, it was outdoor, and I think we were probably 100 yards(if that) from the stage. She is the QUEEN of rock and roll, and it truly saddens me that her wonderful, gorgeous singing voice has been silenced! She will live on forever, and there will NEVER be another LINDA RONSTADT! Thank you for the beautiful music and those awesome vocal chords! We love you Linda.

My father took me to her concert in Las Vegas. I don’t who enjoyed the concert more me or my father. I was a phenomenal show.

As the saying goes: "this woman could sing the PHONE BOOK" (and I'd be captivated. What an amazing talent. One of a kind in my opinion.

Always knew she was a great singer but the way she sang in Pirates of Penzance was next level. Heard her tell an interviewer recently that she can't sing any longer due to her health problems, then she sang a little with some friends who dropped by. The interviewer said, "But you were just singing there." She responded, "No, that wasn't singing." Her jazz work with Nelson Riddle was also great. Riddle had never heard of her before but his granddaughter assured him, "Don't worry, her checks won't bounce."

The loss of this great voice to illness is one of the saddest stories in all of rock and roll.

She had the purest soprano voice of her generation. No doubt about it. I still get goosebumps when I hear her!

I saw her in '76. She was part of the concert to benefit Jerry Brown. Jackson Brown opened with David Lindley on fiddle and lap steel. Linda came out and joined them for a song (or 2?). Then Jackson and David left and basically the Andrew Gold band came out and joined Linda. When their set was done, the Eagles came out. At some point, Glen says " Oh, on piano, that's Dan Fogelberg." For the encore, everybody came back onstage with Jerry Brown and Dan played "There's a Place in the World for a Gambler", with everybody joining in.

Linda's catalog is one of my go to's at work many days. I was the perfect age to grow up on her music. Glen as her inductor in the RRHOF was perfect. First saw Linda in concert right after she left The Stone Poneys. The Chestnut Caberet in Philly. Became a life long fan. She was THE singer of a generation. Her vocal ability was exquisite. I can't thank her enough for sharing her amazing talent with us.

Like you had a friend who understood and was with you. You were held by the tenderness in her voice. And for me, that was a tremendous gift at a very lonely time. God Bless You, Ms Ronstadt. I've never been a trucker, but had occasion to drive across the country coast-to-coast a couple of times in the '70s and always had this on my mind. That....and I used to be stationed near Tehachapi and it was my favorite local motorcycle ride.

Her cuteness and personal life be what it was, she was/is THE voice of the rock n roll era. If she had a new release, we all listened.

It's nice to remeber there was a time when the singer had class and was in the business because of the talent they actually had and not what could be manufactured or embellished.
