Solid gold, buffalo horn, titanium. Only the best materials are used in these incredible glasses from Lindberg. But how do they compare to other luxury brands like Cartier and Lucas de Stael? Let's find out...

I own Lindberg Spirit Titanium. One of the most comfortable and lightweight pair I have ever owned. Very subtle and only those who know about this brand look at you and know what you are wearing. So, it's like a secret millionaire kind of thing. Love them.

I love the buffalo horn frames. At 5:07, the gold frames are mannered. Too decorative and fussy.

Excellent review as always. I have a question about Mont Blanc eyewear, how good is it and where does it fall in the brands tiers?

I've worked at a practice that sells the Precious and Horn frames from LINDBERG, and have also edged and glazed lenses into hundreds of LINDBERG frames, including Precious, Horn, rimless, etc. I am an absolute fan of LINDBERG frames, I currently own a pair of N.O.W. and a pair of Acetanium myself. There are a lot of LINDBERG purchasers AND even dealers that complain about the brand (especially the N.O.W.), and its unfortunately a brand that needs extreme care and precision to dispense properly. I often make comparisons with Japanese and German automobiles. Both are very reliable. But the Japanese cars are made under the assumption people will forget or abandon their scheduled service every so often, the German cars are reliable provided regular servicing is done. LINDBERG frames are definitely an amazing brand and I can vouch for it (having handled plenty), but it is assumed proper care is taken when fitting the lenses, and also proper care is taken by the customers who wear them. The Buffalo frame is very much that; the lenses need to be edged at the perfect size to take into account frame expansion and shrinkage due to ambient conditions (its a natural material). Lenses can't be cut too small that its loose when its warm or humid, and the lenses can't be too big that it cracks the frame when ite cold and dry. Customers also need to periodically treat the material with beeswax to prevent the frame from drying up.

Hey Robert, I still think the Reykjavik Eyes Black Label that you were wearing at the beginning of the video looks best on you. Just curious, what’s the price range for Reykjavik titanium frames?

Personally I think the strength of Lindberg as a brand is in minimalist design and extreme comfort, and that doesn't necessarily translate well into precious materials. At the 400-500 price point, I consider them to be better than Cartier. At the 2k price point, I consider Cartier wood/horn and Chrome Hearts to be much better.

Beautiful glasses but the buffalo horn and gold frames and perhaps beyond us mere mortals! I love the regular and simplest Lindberg designs however and I have a few pairs having worn Lindberg for years!

i have looked on the Lindberg website for aviator style frames but I could not find them. Are these only made to order? I thought they would at least have aviators available in the general collection.

IMO, with respect to luxury items, "worth the money" is not a fair gauge. By definition, they are excessive and therefore you're getting less per dollar spent. I'm not knocking luxury, I love luxury. I would spend on one if I had the means. I love the thicker cut as well, the buffalo horn really shines there.

Solid gold frames. I guess they will last forever, so they can be seen as an investment. Maybe how some see a Rolex watch.

Beautiful! 5:24 Just to note, the Lindberg Precious gold frames are made with 18ct gold, which is not correct to describe as “pure” gold. Its 75% pure. A subtle distinction, but taken quite seriously in the jewelry industry.

I'm acutally kind of disappointed they dont come up with any new frame styles for this collection. From a distance nobody would notice the difference between acetate and horn, and that aviator frame is already a standard one in their titanium collection, there's just too little difference. The rimless gold is absolutely stunning though, i have to give them that.

Very beautiful frames for sure, but don't use metal frames due to oxidation that had in my last pair which was POLICE frames. Also its sadly very risk to wear gold frames & Jewellery. I definitely think we needed more people like you guys to shake up the market. Particularly on range of lens options. I do wonder if you guys reglaze frames?

The frames he shows in the video use Hypoallergenic metals: Titanium for the first lot, and Solid Gold for the last one, so you wouldn't have that problem with these.

were those frames titanium by any chance or just standard metal?
@salvare938
@salvare938 2 ай бұрын
a lot of metal frames nowadays use some form of nickel alloy as the base-metal, and when the paint or the varnish chips and the core gets exposed, thats when it often causes skin irritation. LINDBERG frames only use titanium for their metal bits for their main-range, and precious metals, all of which are hypoallergenic. Stainless steel is also another hypoallergenic metal material to consider, like Mykita or ic! Berlin
