Today, we fly across the Atlantic for 33 hours...in stages.

I recreated this epic 33 hour, 30 minute flight in four parts, using old school, FS 2004. Total elapsed time for my flight was 34 hours, 6 minutes. Completing this flight made me appreciate what an exceptional and skilled pilot Charles Lindbergh really was, and what a phenomenal achievement it was to accomplish this feat in 1927!

Aviation proverb: there are old pilots and brave pilots, but no old and brave pilots. Lindbergh was brave pilot. He was lucky as well. Airplane was custom-made to that specific task. Odds of success were about as good as they could be made from beginning. Flight was unusually rough technical challenged, but need of exceptional pilot was as reduced as possible.

When you realize the guage to the Left of the altitude and directly above what pass for attitude indicaters..... Thats a course indicater. You put the desired course in on the compass looking thing next to your right hip and it tells you if you're directly on heading and if not turn the direction the arrow points.

@@EmeryE2 there are two! The Transatlantic which is this one…32 hours from NYC to Paris. Then there is another one…West coast USA to east coast USA to prepare for the fight to Paris. About 15 hours, I think!

I was hoping it would save also. Mine saved but now I’m having some issues with the save just after land ho. Coming up in the Nova Scotia coast. Maybe I’m just not reaching the check point fingers crossed

Ya, that could be. Throughout the trip, it would often send me back an hour, so it was a waste of time to not fly for at least 3 hours at once.

I remember playing flight sim 2004 when I was idk below 10 years old and getting so confused why this plane doesn’t have windshield lol

I think the periscope affects yaw trim, and isn't passing providence the checkpoint marker? That first leg took me 1.05 hours

Lower-right corner of your screen you will see the save icon (spinning circle for a few seconds). I also discovered that you can force it to save by going into any of the settings, changing something (I would increase Master Volume by one), save, then resume your flight. This will force it to save your place!
