Try elevating the color sensors to get more accuracy out of them so that the color sensors could catch the colors better too. Thanks for the video! ❤

Thanks for the video Zach! I was trying to get out of the Repeat Until block based on motor degrees vs timer. Before my repeat until block I reset my B relative position to 0. (B is my left wheel) I repeat until B relative position is > 720 (which would be 2 rotations). The if statement to follow the black line are inside the Repeat Until. It follows the black line but never gets out of the Repeat Until. I do have a Stop Moving block at the end. Any help?

Hi - great video...thank you very much. Quick question: When I click on more movement blocks I only get 3 extra blocks, and I don't get the moving at power block you used. Do you know how I can solve this?

Thank you! We have been using sensing exact colors. We have had more errors than success. Definitely trying reflective light next! We don't have a % power block in Spike 3. We are going to try it with speed; but does anyone know where or when the % power block will be returning?

Hey Zach, Thank you so much for this video. For our robot, we are trying to add one color sensor in the front, and one color sensor in the back (instead of having 2 in the front). The front color sensor does the job, when we use the code similar to the code in this video. For the back color sensor to work, we need to use negative values in the "start moving at x, y %power". How do you think the code will change if the wheel motors are turning backwards, instead of forward?

Thanks for the video! I tried to do line follow for the top black line instead. It worked for straight line but it didn't turn (when the black line turns left) and kept going straight into the green zone. So just wonder how to fix it? Thanks.

So you can do one of two things. 1. Increase the difference between the two motor speeds. 2. Stop the line follow, turn the 45 degrees, the start another line follow. I encountered the same issue on that particular turn and my kids opted to go with number 2 for a few reasons. It kept the line follow smoother and faster. It takes more time to allow the robot to swing back and forth. If that makes since.

We learn a lot from your videos. But is there a way to use line tracking for a number of degrees with Spike Prime. Because when you're working with seconds, the distance from the stop is a different place each time.

Ah! Good observation. Yes there is, you can certainly do some logic with a change in position with any motor as an exit condition for a loop!

@@CablesCodex @zachary's videos have been a lifesaver as it is the beginning of my bachelor´s final project, if all goes well im bringing a small FLL comp to my city division of aftercare programs, my kids are the lucky guinea pigs for this program, might even be a middle school FLL coach next season as i have good freedom at both jobs (LSA, and leisure specialist) to bring in projects like this

Hello! I am a mentor of a first year team of 9 year olds. Some have coded and some have not. (Including myself!). We are trying to do this code and it is not working for us. Our robot has 2 sensors on the front corners. My girls love your videos and have tons of questions. Any chance we can do a zoom chat?!!!

I am the mentor for a FLL team. This is our second year competing. Last year we used the Mindstorms EV3 software to develop our code with many files and blocks. This year, we are hoping to use EV3 Classroom, in fact, I think we are forced to use it because I have upgraded my mac to Catalina. I am struggling to understand how to break up the code into different files. As far as I can tell, we are stuck with one giant file that will contain all our code and blocks. We will have hundreds, possibly thousands of lines of code. Is this the case?

So, it’s my understanding that this should work with ev3’s too because ev3’s are being programmed with drag and drop blocks coding like the spike prime, is that not true?

@@ZacharyTrautwein I got it..but trace the line with EV3 Education I can't program the robot to do that and when I tried it didn't materialize .. The school's facilities do not allow you to purchase a spike kit, so I will have to fight again with the EV3, and for sure, I will take your notes into consideration. Thank you very much. By the way, I am from Jordan and the robot team I work in belongs to UNRWA schools..
