In this video, we learn how to translate the basic language of a word problem into an equation. This will enable us to setup an equation when we are solving word problems.

When showing the examples for phrases of multiplication why did we get 1/3x instead of x/3 as I think that would be the right answer. Could you please explain it because I am confused. Thank you for the overall video! Subscribed already.

@@simalle 1/3 * x is the same as x/3. Think about it using multiplication with fractions 1/3 * x/1 = 1 * x / 3 * 1 = x/3

There are many different types and all need to be covered. When you study the idea is to understand how to set up each problem. They all have a different formula or strategy involved. Good luck with finals.

You have an equation: 56x - 64 = 6x + 36 We are adding 64 to each side of the equation. This leads to use isolating x on the left side of the equation.
