I’d have to agree that the story is such a big strength in this game. Easily the strongest 2D story, and it even almost rivals some of the 3D stories. I went into this game knowing absolutely nothing about the story. That made the build up to the final reveal so much more interesting. I loved the foreshadowing some of the bosses would do after you killed them. The way it was revealed to be a dream actually kinda gave me chills. The moral dilemma you are faced with when you realize it is a dream is just so brilliant. The story, along with the weirdness of the game is what makes it such a memorable experience to me.
