RUMINATIONS: Todd got a surprising amount of flack in the comments for his cameo. It’s a head-scratching thing to me due to the fact that, well, I WROTE HIS CAMEO. People sometimes forget that we’re playing characters here and you’re not watching a live feed of us just talking normally - we are exaggerating for comedic effect. Todd was not actually stalking Obscurus Lupa, I did not actually defeat a multidimensional conqueror. Nor does Todd actually laugh about nerdy things, especially when he’s into a lot of the same nerdy things as me. In this case I actually like to have it as a recurring gag that few of the other producers actually take Linkara seriously because of the thing he reviews. Comic books have always been seen as a niche market, even today where people either think of them as things for children or adults who act like children. I’d love to change that perception, but sadly comic companies themselves often seem to take the same view of their audience. Although frankly we could certainly use more comics that are kid-friendly. It’d help create more of an audience for them again.
The idea of the comic request via charity hasn’t been attempted again, sadly, though it is currently a thing with my Patreon. I’ve had to limit it down to 2 people instead of 4 like when it started since people were rotating out too quickly and I wouldn’t get to half the comics I WANTED to talk about next year if I hadn’t. Surprisingly, nobody has yet to ask for a lamp review.
The original stinger for this episode was an advertisement for something Masterthecreater (the title card artist) was doing, but it of course is long over with, so I’ve removed it.
