Just remember that there wasn't a single leader/teacher in the New Testament that was wealthy. Not a one. Almost every reference to money in the New Testament is a warning to its power over us and the evil it can drum up. Having wealth demands management and that takes a lot of time - time away from God. That's why Satan supports the prosperity Gospel so much. While some are drawn to Christ many more are eventually led away by the hollowness of its teaching. These people are building their spiritual house on a bedrock of money instead of a spiritual foundation with their Creator. Good luck with that. The irony is how successful prosperity teachers are so often in poorly educated, poorly read and financially poor areas. Areas where people can least afford to give. Why? Because they promise wealth if they give! Its an absolute epidemic in Africa with hundreds of millions being scammed and defrauded by false teachers. Very wealthy false teachers. Show me a prosperity teacher that doesn't spend a lot on themselves. You see, that's the evidence of the greed. They always lavish themselves. Price is not the worst by a long shot. But look at the nepotism in the organization with almost every high position taken by family. That's a sure sign of obvious corruption. What's the chance each one of them is best for that position out of all the people available to them? From their website the top people are: PASTOR FRED PRICE JR. FIRST LADY ANGEL PRICE APOSTLE PRICE DR. BETTY PRICE The other sign of corruption is the use of the word apostle. Do you realize that very few of the followers of Jesus were granted that title? And Price is up there with them? Really? Look, he was a great speaker and teacher that had some very good points at times. Just don't ever be swayed by the prosperity movement. There was precious little financial prosperity in the times of Jesus! Jesus had "nowhere to lay His head" and not even a change of clothes! How's that for prosperity??? Our spiritual leader was the financially poorest of all of us! Oh the irony.

You seem to be of the opinion that this passage disproves the teaching that prosperity is God's will. You can be prosperous without storing up treasures.

@@JewandGreek The blasphemy known as "The Prosperity Gospel" could be summed up as, "Storing up treasures is the essence of prosperity, and prosperity is a sign of God's favor, which means the ostentatiously wealthy are the most favored by God." This runs quite counter to the New Testament. ` Hey, you're the first Jew I've seen type out 'God'.

​@@thefaithfilledblonde Frederick Price has taken PLENTY from his ministry. Anyone can quote scripture. What we need are leaders that live that scripture. One of the first indications of bad ministry is you see the family of the leader scattered all through the ministry. This keeps things in control. There's no way they could be the best at doing that task of all they have to choose from. You see this a lot in large African and African American churches unfortunately. Just look at the last name of the leader then scan the top people in that organization. You'll see their children and sisters/brothers, often very young in positions that they shouldn't be in because of their lack of life experience. Nepotism is very strong in some Christian circles; it's certainly not limited to Black churches! Thankfully it's easy to spot. It's really tragic seeing so many false teachers today. They have a lot of charisma and speak very powerfully. And they use those gifts of persuasion to make a boatload of money. Because almost always they are strongly asking for money. Why? Because they want to spend that money. Yet in the New Testament NOBODY was wealthy. Jesus was homeless and didn't even own a change of clothes. None of the apostles were rich. What poor people don't understand is to keep your money you need to manage your money and that takes time and stresses you out. That keeps you away from God, trying to keep your house of cards from crumbling. Because there are always people waiting to steal if given the opportunity. Protecting your money takes time and effort. Management is stressful. Someone very wise once said, "The only people that think money brings happiness are those that have never had much money."

Erik, have you ever been to a restaurant or department store and did not get the service you desired? An establishment you go to frequently, because you like going there. The day you didn't get the service you desired did you stop going to the store or restaurant permanently? The store is not bad the employee just did not represent the brand well. You are bless,and chosen of God ,i had some experience in the faith ministry also some of the sisters they look down on me because i didnt drive or wear what they wear ,but i am bless ,the word of God say silver and gold have i not but such as i have i give unto thee,i havee the onionting to set captive Free ,some of those same sister came to my house didnt had any funiture as yet ,but i had the Holy Spirit that gave me a word about her daughter plotting sueside we prayed take authority over the spirit of sueside ,2hr after she gets home God led her to the letter her daughter wrote concern her sueside ,from that she never look down on me, its the enemy hates the Jesus Christ the onionting one in you , know who you are in Christ ,and don't doubt yourself because of the rejection..

Like Pastor Price said, when young dope boys see him rolling up in a Rolls Royce, he'll be able to tell them he earned this from the works of the Lord, not from the evil powers of satan. Nothing wrong with having nice things as long as you're humbled and praise God for his fruits that you've earned. People will see the holiness and want to find out and be apart of your spiritual success. I know I do. And who's to say that having a Rolls Royce is too much? It does the same thing other cars do, just a bit fancier options. If you don't take care of it, it'll break down just like any other car. Let your faith be your guide.

Money has an assignment, prosperity has an assignment. To finance the Kingdom, to get the message of the Kingdom of God vs the kingdom of darkness to people who are poor mentally. Physically and spiritually. I've been both places, Kingdom of God, Kingdom of heaven brought to mankind is much better. I'm totally sold out to the Kingdom of God.
