It doesn't matter what festival they're at or what they sang. This is a 17+ year-old band that's busted their ass on stage for fans all these years and always deserves respect! You don't throw shit!!

Yes I do agree with that. Don’t throw shit. Sure it’s one thing if it’s a stuffed animal or bra or panties that’s meant for the band. But it’s completely different if you are throwing trash like at the stage….. or a shoe….. or just something that shouldn’t even be thrown

THEY DESERVE RESPECT ALL THE WAY, ESPECIALLY CHESTER. He literally had broken bones during live performances to show the extent he would go to entertain his fans. Like I posted on LPU forum yesterday, if you do not like the new album they put out then do not go the PROMOTIONAL CONCERT OF THAT ALBUM…AS SIMPLE AS THAT….. Everyone is entitled to their likes and dislikes but to do this IS NOT ACCEPTABLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. On a personal note, I DO NOT GET GENRE FANATICS. Good music is good music; be it heavy metal, rock, alt rock, grunge, rap, pop, folk etc etc. GIVE CREDIT WHERE IT IS DUE CHESTER WAS A SENSITIVE GUY ALL AROUND AND THAT IS WHAT MADE HIM SO ENDEARING. These trolls knew it would be easy to get angry reaction out of him so they mercilessly taunted him. I AM SO SORRY CHESTER THAT YOU WERE TREATED THIS WAY DURING YOUR LAST MONTH ON THIS PLANET.

I always see people saying stuff like 'I wish Chester knew how much we loved him' 'if only he realized how many people cared about him'... But you know what? No wonder he didn't, with the way people treated him. If I were an artist and would be booed at my own shows, had stuff thrown at me, told by my own fans that I can't do my job and should stop making music, I would have thought I wasn't loved too. So take this as a reminder to be respectful to artists, and to people in general. If you don't like a song, don't listen to it, but doing stuff like this (or even less extreme stuff, like leaving hate comments) crosses a line. And tell them you love them and care about them while they're still alive, don't wait until they die to remember that.

I'll start off by saying that it doesn't matter how much you don't like a band's sound/song choice. It is NEVER okay to assault the frontman. Ever. Second, I am aware of what he said. I'm not saying he wasn't in the wrong. But look at how everyone has been talking about him, the band, and the album that they all worked very hard on. There's a way to respectfully disagree with a band's music. You're all bashing him for what he said. Take a look at what you're saying. Everyone talking crap about the band is no more in the right and I do see where he's coming from. All of you getting upset at him, what did you expect him to do when you talked crap about the band and the album first? I don't blame him for speaking out just like you're doing. They're not in their 20s anymore and they've changed as people since Hybrid Theory days. Besides, if every album was exactly like Hybrid Theory, they wouldn't have made it this far because everyone would be bored and saying "all their songs sound the same". If anything I think their new album shows their (and especially Chester's) versatility. You don't have to like the new music but he at least deserves a shred of respect because he's a HUMAN BEING just like the rest of us. He's allowed to be frustrated with all the hate and if you were in his place, I'm sure you'd be frustrated too. You don't have to agree with their new album's sound, but there's a better way to disagree than to make fun of the band and assault the frontman. It's literally as easy as saying "I don't like their new album" or "I'm not a big fan of LP, I prefer (insert favorite band here)." I'm tired of the hate. I'm tired of everyone bashing LP for being who they are and making music that they like. Now I'll just wait for the haters to start bashing me 😂⌚️
@angelamiller2577
@angelamiller2577 7 жыл бұрын
Chester said what he said because of the haters. That's it. He wasn't saying anything negative to the people who still love & support them & appreciate what they do & all the hard work they put into it. Musicians are under no obligation to appease you. They make what they love, & if you don't love it, move the fuck on, just like Chester said.
@runiclegacy1661
@runiclegacy1661 7 жыл бұрын
I agree completely. If you like Hybrid Theory better than One More Light, then listen to Hybrid Theory, but don't bash them for changing it up. It's THEIR band. It's THEIR music. It's THEIR album. If you don't like it, that's your opinion, but like I said there's a way to respectfully disagree and throwing things at the band is not it. There's no excuse for it. If there's one thing I can tell you, it's that they love their fans, even with all the hate that's directed toward them. No one likes to be put down like they're being put down. At least I sure don't. I'd feel upset, angry, and frustrated if all that hate was directed at me (I'm sure that's exactly how Chester felt when he said what he did) and I'd probably react the same way. Did he take it a little too far? Maybe a little bit. Is that an excuse for people to assault him (yes, throwing things at someone, regardless of the reason, is assault)? Absolutely not. I will say that I understand completely how he feels and it does not feel good. I don't think he meant for it to come out like it did. He just wants all the hate to stop. The only reason I'd tell him to let it go is because it's a never ending cycle of hate from the so called fans and him getting frustrated and saying something that makes those same people spew more hate. To the haters I'd say lay the heck off of him and learn how to respectfully disagree with the new sound. If everyone had done that in the first place, this wouldn't have escalated like it did and none of the things he said would've needed to be said. If you like the new album, that's fine. If you RESPECTFULLY disagree with it, that's your opinion too. But throwing things at and threatening the frontman is unacceptable regardless of how you feel about him and the band. Just something for everyone to think about

Me, too. And it's not like this was the only song they played during that show. I've seen more than one video of this concert where they played songs from Hybrid Theory. I get that people don't like this new direction they've taken, but lyrics make the song, imo. If it's just about stupid shit, I lose interest real quick. I love when music tells a story or evokes an emotion, & you'd think most people in the world could relate to the lyrics of "Heavy." Haters gonna hate, I guess.

I had never seen this video until now. Watching it really made me feel bad and cry for Chester. He gave so much love and dedication to his fans for so many years, and this is how some repay him? I understand that some people didn't like the new style of music they made. It's fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion; but how dare you be so disrespectful as to throw something at a man who worked so hard and really poured his heart and soul into this piece to tell a story and send a message. I could never understand why Chester would do something like kill himself, but after watching this I get it. Chester was beginning to feel that the only thing that made him feel like he had a purpose in life, besides his family of course, were beginning to turn against him and hate him. Chester felt that nobody cared anymore if he was here in this world or not, because if they are going to be disrespectful enough to throw shit at him, then they obviously no longer cared about him. Chester always said that he did all this for his fans, that without his fans he was no one. In this video I see Chester is angry, but more than anything I see Chester is in pain. He went from being loved and having a purpose, to having shit thrown at him and called shit just for trying something new. Just because their music changed doesn't mean Chester or the rest of Linkin Park deserves this kind of disrespect. And for those that say serves him right for taking shit about his fans; in the first place he was talking about the haters that continue to compare everything they do to meteora and hybrid theory. If your going to like a band who prides themselves on being different and dabbling in different styles of music, don't start to talk shit and hate on them when they do so. All Chester was doing was trying to make it clear that they are going to try new things no matter what kind of crap comes their way because that's who they are. Chester didn't deserve this, and after watching this video I feel that we didn't deserve Chester. We failed him in his time of need. All he wanted to do was share a part of his love and hurt with us and we failed him. RIP sweet angel, I will forever remember you and keep you in my heart and soul forever. I hope that you are finally at peace and no longer feeling hurt and betrayed by life. 😢😢😢💔💔💔

Whoever this person was, you never understand how much Filipino fans and other races loved this man. Most of us trying hard to buy linkinpark tickets just to see him and heard them sing. You had the opportunity to saw him live and c’mon learn how to respect,if you don’t like him and the band,just get out. We don’t need that kind of attitude. To Chester Bennington, I am really sorry if I missed your 2013 concert in Manila due to work, I never thought that was your last concert. I want you to know that I love you and Linkinpark. Your music lives on and you will not forgotten. I missed you Chester and your performance. I’m your number one fan till the end.

I just don`t know...I tried to keep it to myself but now I can`t anymore. To me it seems like the hate he got what part of a reason he wanted to go...Of course, I don`t ignore his depression and mental health but come on. We all knew Chester used music as a medicine. He was pouring himself and his pain into his songs. It was his only way to escape. You may not like the sound of heavy but the lyrics and music video was literally what he was feeling (his interview about "another Chester" wanting to take him down). We all knew music was a safe place for him, a medicine, a way to escape. When this one thing that helped him stopped working because people refused to like it etc, it could be his breaking point because he wasn`t sure if he wanted to do this anymore and didn`t have any other way to heal himself. I don`t say it`s the only reason but I definitely think already depressed person could be way more hurt by people bashing things that helped him to deal with it, that we can imagine. Be kind to eacg other, even if you don`t like something. We love you Chester, RIP

Nobody acknowledges it very often..but in my opinion..I feel this incident, as well as the overall negative reaction to "One More Light" contributed to Chester's Bennington's suicide. He even stated that he took the "sell out" accusations personally and I think that seriously affected his mental health😥

Love how the "True Fans" of LP are bashing on the One More Light album. I mean if you're a true fan you'd show some respect and, support. I will say (which may contradict my first statement) I didn't like it at first but, Jesus Christ it grew on me after awhile. I love how bands evolve their music and explore new avenues of styles with their own signature way. I was happy that they decided to do that starting with Minutes to Midnight. But regardless music is music, LP's songs are what got me through life. I took Chester's death pretty hard, I couldn't even come back to listening to their music until "Lost" came out this year which finally gave me some closure.

Sure, you can still be a fan abd not like every track by them….I don’t understand it, but, you are allowed to like what you like. BUT you’re no longer a fan when you blatantly disrespect a legendary frontman, Chester! He loved his fans. He put his blood, sweat, tears and demons into his lyrics and performances. And, side note, how hot was he that one, he was all sweaty which is my favorite, and two, he was going to kick that guys a**!!! 🤘🏼🎸🎤🥰❤️‍🩹
