Same. Alot of musicians I adore have passed away but I was always calm. Of course I felt sad but I never cried. Untill now. Chester's death was the most painful to me. Maybe I wasn't the biggest L.P. fan but They, and of course Chester, meant alot to me. Not only because They were the first "heavier" band I started listening to, but also which is the most important, Their music has helped me with getting through the toughest moments of my life. And They are actually the only one band that helped me in this way. Last month (or 2 months ago, I don't remember) L.P. have played a concert in my country and I really wanted to go there, but I was very busy that month, so I couldn't. I tried to cheer myself up by saying "That's OK, I'm not a die hard fan of L.P. anyway. If I can't go and see Them now, I'll see Them next time". And now I fucking regret it because I know that there will be no next time and this was my only chance to see Them. Even if L.P. will continue being a band (I don't think They will, but we will see), it still won't be the same. Not without Chester. It's just so sad, Chester has helped so many people but nobody could help Him. :(

This hits me really hard as well because my parents and I both like linkin park and we were planning on going to the concert they were going to have this august together but now Chester is gone. RIP.

Robin william, Carrie Fisher and Paul walker were upsetting to me for a bit but Chesters death has hit really hard. I remember as a kid singing along with their songs, watching the animated music videos religiously lol, goin to a concert with my cousins and uncle. The only concert i ever bothered to go see. Shame he died and honestly hard to believe really.

If you can't understand why he would leave his family behind, his fans, his friends and his career. Then the answer is mental illness. Mental illness is just as important as a physical illness and just as devastating. Yes it can be treated in a different way, like getting counselling ect, but it is just as important​. Mental illness can fill you with so much pain and hurt and negative emotions, you become consumed by them, it's an internal battles of wills just to keep going. Mental illness is isolating. It can make you feel like you have no other choice, that nothing is going to help you, that you aren't going to get better. Chester may not have got help because the depression and the illness stopped him. It can make you feel so helpless and so numb that you genuinely feel the world would be better off without you, even though that isn't true. Even though you have a family, children who love you. In that moment of darkness, you have blinkers on. You can't see the effect your actions will have, you can't see how much hurt will be left behind because all you can see is all the negative thoughts and emotions and that can be enough to kill. I understand how devastating it is to loose such a special guy as Chester, i myself am a huge fan of Linkin Park. Take a moment and put yourself in his shoes. He, like so many others was blinded by mental illness and it pushed him over the edge. He wasn't in a rational frame of mind where he could calmly think about his loved one's​ or to get help. He was too far gone. If you, (or anyone you know) are/is going through a hard time with a mental or a physical​ illness, there is always help available and there is always another choice. Suicide is not the answer by any means. People love you and people care about you. You deserve better.

Matthew Pershing He had a rough life to begin with and he used his music to channel his energy and everything into it. He had buried some stuff in his mind and when he saw a picture of a family member, I think his mother, he just broke down. He had many things going on and he wanted to leave it all.

Matthew Pershing it's a possible murder now, Chris cornell died the same way and Chester so happened to kill himself on Chris's birthday. Chris and chester probably were both murdered and their death was framed.

Even though I never got to go to a concert of theirs or meet Chester, I grew up listening to Linkin Park and some of their songs were all I would listen to after I was forced to come out as a trans male to my parents. I loved the band and I even attempted to sing Breaking The Habit at a talent show once, but the teachers said Linkin Park was not suitable for school... May Chester rest in peace. We will never forget him.
