Cover of "Somewhere I Belong" by Linkin Park off of their album, Meteora. Tuning is A# Standard. For best sound, please listen with headphones. Enjoy, like, and subscribe for more vids!! Facebook: / mysticguitar77

Just an FYI, I did dub in the rhythm guitar for all the songs that have a rhythm guitar (like this one). It just sounds more complete rather than just doing the lead guitar. For the video though, I primarily stuck with the lead guitar for the whole album. When I went through Hybrid Theory, I did a lot of switching back and forth between lead and rhythm but for this one I think it would be better to just stick with the lead and keep it focused on that.

You used A# Standard tuning, just like Brad himself did on the original track (although they would play it in Drop C# during live shows). Now this is dedication. Hats down!
@timuramigos5562 жыл бұрын
They played in Standard D#. And it’s interesting for me: what tuning Mike Shinoda used on the original track (rhythm guitar)?
@mikeKidLazy2 жыл бұрын
@@timuramigos556 In an interview in some old guitar magazine from back in the day, Brad himself explained he used A# Standard for playing this song in the studio. I would assume both Brad and Mike used the same tuning. But I can't tell for sure, it's possible that Brad may have been speaking only for himself, haha. But from what I can see, yeah, Mike would use D# Standard for this song during live shows, while Brad would stick to Drop C# (or at least so he did in the official music video). My bad, sorry.

You know when you get past the synth sounds and loud drums, Linkin Park was really fucking heavy. Sure a lot of their songs are easy but still heavy for what they were. I still think songs like Faint and Lyin From You are really heavy songs when you get past Joe Hahn's synths. Very well done cover, my dude! Keep it up!

Don’t really understand how synths could be considered subtract from the heaviness of an album or band.
@MoskauProductions2 жыл бұрын
@@reducedtoatoms3973 I'm not saying that at all. I just feel when you break down the songs a bit more, they are much heavier than people think. The synths definitely add more catchiness to the tracks. I'm not against synths by any means.

My favorite Linkin Park song. Would love to try and learn it but it’s tuning is kind of odd if I remember correctly and as a beginner I’m still nervous about trying to screw up all the strings. Great cover though man! The lead bit sounded so clean 🤤
@phantomtearsca2 жыл бұрын
Nothing too unusual here. It's A# Standard, so the most you'd need to do is get some heavier string gauges to keep it in tune. I'd probably recommend the EXL157 Baritone set from D'Addario.

@@phantomtearsca Still learning guitar, so what’s A standard in string order lol? Like Drop D for instance is just DADGBE, so what would A standard be?

@MysticGuitar772 жыл бұрын
It was originally recorded in this tuning, but live they play it in D# Standard. You could easily play it in Drop C# too. You just get the extra low end chunkiness with this tuning.

@Divine_Serpent_Geh Жыл бұрын
Get a 7 string and tune it a 1/2 step down (easiest way). Or… tune your guitar 6 half steps down from standard. You’ll need thicker strings, you could buy a 7 string pack and not use the high e.
@mrtiesthatbind Жыл бұрын
@@Divine_Serpent_Gehhow about using a baritone guitar?
@Divine_Serpent_Geh Жыл бұрын
@@mrtiesthatbind Absolutely that works as well. The reason I didn’t mention that option is because most people don’t have a 6-String Bari, and they are quite rare and pricey. But they are amazing.
