Those kagami mochi are so cute!! I only have a regular kakagi mochi set, I bought years ago in Japan (here I can only get the regtangular if I can get kiri mochi) I was collecting the zodiac statues you can buy at shrines but now I'm of course several years behind. I think I should look for the bunny and the next zodiac when I'm back, hopefully in spring. That butter case is really handy. I need to get that! Even though the butter packs I can buy here are different in size I think it still will be usefull :) I heard it was getting colder in the tokyo area now, please keep warm Linna (and your family of course).

@@LinnainJapan Yes you can call me by my first name ☺ I get some new new years decoration for on the door every year from my Japanese family so I have a bit of a collection. I would love to have the bamboo decoration next to the door, so I hope I'll be able to get that one time. I should probably look for teh box in which I store them otherwise I'll be searching the day after Christmas. It is always a mix of traditional Dutch decorations and the Japanese new years decorations in my home. Same with the food. I have soba on new years eve, but also the traditional fried sweet treats called oliebollen (fried dough balls, plain or with raisins) and appelflappen (fried apple slices in dough). You eat it with powdered sugar.

Hiya Linna, it was so nice of you to post another video today,I enjoyed it so much. The last two weeks we have been really truly cold. Today we have been minus 4 degrees all day. It is too cold outside the pavements have been so slippery. I nearly fell ,so I just came home instead. We have very bad economy at present and short of gas because of the war in UKRAINE. It is so expensive we are hit hard at the moment. But maybe in the future the war in Russia will finish. I pray it does. I have to find time to get Chritmas presents at this moment in time I am really behind with all the gifts I have to buy.The weather is going to be like this for many weeks ahead. I will just try my best, that's all I can do. I'm sur everything will work out. I look forward to another video soon. Have a healthy happy time, till we chat again. That math book didn’t look like the American common core stuff they’re teaching here 😩 that math from what I read in the book you showed looked like what I learned in school. But I could be wrong since I don’t read or speak Japanese. I love your channel and it’s always nice to relax and watch your shopping adventures, as I get to see how different another country’s grocery store is like. I’ve done the conversion on some things from your money to American dollar and the difference is insane. So much cheaper where you shop.

I love your podcasts and am also so happy to see a new one. I still have some of your earlier podcasts to watch yet. I have noticed that besides prices getting higher but the products are smaller. Coral boxes, rolls even bar soaps and so many things. I use to work in a bakery and there Christmas cookies have gone up 2 dollars and they make a Boston brown bread at the holidays and that too is smaller. Now with the books I love reading and my only grandchild loves to read also. He is 12 an I have been buying this only series called the wings of fire characters are different types of dragons. I am reading them too. He now is interested in the Harry Potter books I have watched a few the movies but nothing interesting to me. Like I said just love your podcasts oh I have never ate mushrooms in my life. Oh ,y I wrote you a book

Yes almost! In Japan, main dish with 2 sites dish and soup is the recommended meal 🍽️ But I usually have some make ahead so I don’t have to cook all from scratch! Of course some times meals become simple when the cook is tired 😅💦
