Do you think Calgary got good value for Markstrom?

Bahl is a good add for Calgary who's likely looking to start rebuilding so younger effective guys who can play minutes matter. But a first that's top 10 protected when you project New Jersey to be a playoff team with improved goal tending? I don't know....So it's like 16-20th probably. I don't think that's as good as the 3rd round pick and Holtz that was supposedly the deadline offer. I think they screwed themselves pretty hard.

Teams needing a goalie are dwindling. Sweeney needs to close the deal with Ottawa. Tick tick tick- Ullmark has held the trade up, hopefully Linus can approve a new destination

This is precisely why the return for ulmark was somewhat low. Once jersey was out boston has to scramble to put together something

this definitely could be shooting for the stars,.a trade centering around Ullmark going to Ottawa for seventh overall. this would give the Bruins five more million in cap space.

Maybe the 2025 pick. Rebuilding teams don't like giving away high picks, especially for goalies.

markstrom is near the end of his career so Calgary did get a good deal on an aging asset

Markstrom is older and less productive in goal. He does have an extra year but I don't think that matters. Ullmark is worth more. And Keumper has been so unproductive the last two years you can argue he's not an nhl goalie at all anymore and the only reason he was able to be successfully traded without giving up a ton of assets is 1. He's only highly paid for one more year then a buyout becomes super appealing and 2 he was traded for a player on an even worse value and term contract. I don't think either of these scenarios is especially indicative of what the market could be for an Ullmark. Especially if Boston is going to allow teams to talk to him first. Ullmark can be a long term solution. Markstrom not likely. And Keumper isn't going to be trusted to be anything unless he has a radical turn around.

Very well said. With the report today of Ullmark waiving his no-trade to Ott awa I think those rumours have legs and I agree he offers far more value than Markstrom or Kemper. I think Markstrom will do well in Jersey but only because of the team in front of him but not winning you games like Ullmark
