Running a tech KZfaq channel is no easy task, especially when you have to cover things like AMD CPUs, Nvidia GPUs, Computer Cases, Hard Drives, oh yeah, and making custom merch, like screwdrivers and backpacks and running a streaming website, oh yeah, and then I need people to clean the building because I don't have time... and who will help me move? Or build my house? Or find sponsors for me to tell you about? Oh, man... this is getting out of hand.

So many channels have been switching to those big desktop arm-mounted rode mics and they sound absolutely terrible. Like spending more money on a mic doesn't make the sound magically better, you should know how the mic works and what kind of mic will work best. @@robertt9342 given the team size from when they moved from the house until now, yeah, that's a really short amount of timr to grow this large. @robertt9342
@robertt9342 Жыл бұрын
@@DonnyStanley . I disagree. Much like this is not some “tech startup” this isn’t some single KZfaqr making content. This is a production company. It’s not “Fast” at all. It’s reasonably if not cautiously paced, completely understandable in how they have parlayed their KZfaq success into other related ventures. I am guessing people have not been paying attention to when Linus actually talks about his companies growth. He has inferred that he could have grown faster by taking VC money. If you think 7-14 years is fast growth, long exactly would you think “fast” growth be in the content creation initially centred around KZfaq? Do you think this growth should have taken 30 years???? Also, somehow you think that recognizing the pace of growth not being “fast” is equates to a lack of success, where in fact it’s the exact opposite given how he chose to grow the company. It’s been slow and steady and I think it’s been the right move for long term stability.

@9:48 about trade law: a company I worked for had someone with 30 years of experience of import export and forgoten more about those kind of things than most people will ever know. Someone in management thought that he was old business and they cut his position and fired him. In a week after he left every last import was stuck in limbo and everyone building the product suddenly had no work. 3 months of nothing coming in because people didn't know how to do trade law stuff they rehired the guy at four times his salary but he only came in two days a week from now on. The Monday after he showed up a dozen semis showed up and they started shipping packages again out the door keeping the business afloat. The people that do import/export stuff can be so valuable.

@@notsoawesomeone They also had an issue in the past where they showed a probationary employee and then things didn't work out (not sure on the details) which lead to some drama. As a result they now make a point to never show probationary employees, just in case. I wish we had something like the Canadian system here in the States. Closest we have are Unions but most jobs don't have unions and when they do you end up having to pay massive union dues. Unions are also a double edged sword as they often protect employees who really should be fired not just the ones who shouldn't be. I've worked quite a few jobs where the kiss-ups who stand around with their thumb up their arse gets promoted while I, the hard worker got fired because I couldn't do 3 peoples jobs at once. As a result I've honestly become a far worse employee because, why bother busting arse when I'm not going to be recognized for it (my bodies also got broken down quite a bit from working long hours, 6 day weeks, doing jobs that are terrible on my body and all for far too little pay, and they wonder why manufacturing jobs can't keep anybody).

@@mikehank2896 Canada has a probationary period for hiring which allows the employee or employer to "walk away". For example, an employee is not owed severance if they are let go within 3 months. I'm guessing it might be more complicated with appearing in videos so to ensure LTT owes an employee nothing they can't appear in videos??? I guess in the US it would be similar to doing contract to hire for 3-6 months to see if and employee works out of not. Or not giving employees benefits until 3 month period. It lowers the employer liability with paying severance, PTO, unemployment benefits if they have those things as policies. It can "get messy" state by state and the laws are a grey area. Canada specifically has a law for those situations. If someone appeared in a video it would probably be a grey area that LTT wants to avoid

My biggest takeaway from this is that logistics is understaffed 😅

Severely, I work as an assistant of asset and inventory in my department (Goverment sector) and only cover a few things from the LTT logistic scope and it's a hassle. I can't imagine their workload.

Feel you. When he said stickering, I flinched. Inventory is painful. I am assuming they have tracking on their inventory as well.

Yes, we just spent that morning "debating" how to sticker an item. I now hate the word sticker. I use label...lessens the pain.
