I use Ubuntu on Azure constantly and have been super happy with it, but I thought it was hilarious to throw out systemd as a feature. I have no issues with it, but I understand it to be stupidly divisive in the Linux community.

They dont care any more. Money is not in OS's, its in running workloads.

Linux is way less expensive than Microsoft anything. What's the point of putting a free OS onto a pay service? It doesn't make much sense and is a waste of money.

What's the point of putting a free OS onto a paid laptop or desktop? The laptop/desktop should also be free. 🤔 🤷♂

@@GuruChaz Two ways really, why open source commercial services exist and need to cash in somehow. First is hosting. Cloud services run on someone elses hardware, servers. Buying and maintaining those servers isn't free. Another is for systems like RedHat and other distributions that have active, professional company, providing active support. These people need to be paid, and are on company payroll. Software may be free, but hardware, maintenance, support, development, and content creation professionally certainly isn't free of charge. There are companies like Google that provide services that are "free" to use, but instead you are the product, and advertisers are the real customers.
