I was laughing about that bird until 1:09 came up. That stare made me immediately freeze. Such presence these creatures have. Immersed fully in the moment, and only a few humans can ever compare to the striking presence of these beasts.

Anyone who hasn't heard a lion roaring or even huffing in real life, the sound is stunning. I heard a lion roaring at the DC zoo, and you could feel the air in the entire enclosure shaking. The dozens of people watching all fell silent to just feel the power of the roar. King among beasts indeed.

They are just absolutely regal-looking and imposing, even while simply sitting still. Tigers may indeed be bigger, stronger and more lethal but they do not in any way have this, the sheer *aura* of power, dominance and indomitability. A tiger needs to snarl its ass off to convince you of its threat, a lion just stares at you real deep with its indifferent, yet ethereally fearsome gaze and you feel doomed already.
