I'll never get tired of the ending shots of all of them running side by side. I can only imagine how loud that was and how well the room smelled after filming those shots. Plus, that's a lot of current being drawn, too, since the horizontal motor F3s pull around an amp when under a heavy load. Not to mention how many takes it took for them to line up perfectly like that.

I remember growing up watching this series when I was around 2-5 years old and my Dad and I used to regularly buy Lionel trains from the Train Station in Mountain Lakes. I’m so glad I found this again video after 16 years.

I always wanted to see this video for the longest time after watching a promo of it years ago. And now watching this all the way through for the first time is honestly a treasure to behold. Thanks for uploading this!

It's hard to believe that the models and the real thing are 75 years old now. Even in 1966 when production was done, the F series Diesels were still pretty commonplace despite the fact the Electro Motive Division, the Alco Locomotive Works, and General Electric were making Diesel trains with 3500 horsepower for the most part.

Neat you got to meet Tom McComas Nikolas. I got to meet Jeff back when the store was in New Buffalo. I would’ve liked to have met Bill Benson though. Least I dedicated my Right of away tribute to him. Did you learn a lot about ROW from my tribute?

Oh great we have a video recording of how they progressively cheapened the shells to save a few pennies while insulting the customers buying their top-of-the-line products. Lionel cursed themselves with plastic shells. The all of their diesel locomotives should have diecast body for strength and traction like their steam locomotives h a d.

If it was not for all of the greedy collectors out there constantly jacking up the price of something until it is ten times what it is worth this hobby would be much more enjoyable. Lionel trains for made to be run and maintained by their owner and their father. Back when men actually were men and knew how to use tools. They were not meant to be a ridiculously expensive collectible. When I can buy a Williams F3 locomotive for $100 brand new a Lionel old used F3 locomotive could be the same in price they are not the technology and electronics state-of-the-art with detailing to match that are marketed to adult operators and collectors. When I see ridiculous prices asked for mundane General everyday toy train locomotive I shake my head in amusement. All these guys that want silly money for anything and everything marked Lionel are going to die with more stuff than their descendants are ever going to be able to sell . Because people's greed they are going to be stuck with stuff that their relatives are going to sell for $0.10 on the dollar Maybe.
