I had some of these things in the 1950s and even re-creating some of it in the 1980s was an expensive deal where a lot of it was made in plastic instead of metal. I can’t imagine what it would cost to get these accessories today. Just excellent. Thank you.

Thanks for a video like no other - most accessory videos include sounds of trains running. Now I know the real sound each accessory should be making! Downstairs to check how our accessories compare, since yours obviously work so well!

A lot of cool accessories there ! I'm reviving the o-gauge train layout that I built for my son about 20 years ago... I have a mix of post-war and "modern" accessories from the mid to late 1990s... my 6-12834 gantry crane doesn't seem to want to work... doing a lot of troubleshooting with that and some other things... I really prefer the post-war stuff without the circuit boards... easier to repair, at least from my limited experience. One of my favorite accessories is an American Flyer barrel loader... I cleaned the motor of old grease 20 years ago (after it sat for about 25 years at my parents house), and it works great now... had to raise it up a bit for the o-gauge layout.

Say no more! Love the video, David. I never thought about having the cows push open a second gate as you did with your 3656 Operating Cattle Car Platform. As said before by others I enjoyed the lack of constant music, talking and extra train noise. Although I have always liked the naration you do on many of your informative videos.

I was wondering when you got the 456 and 397? I've never seen them in a video of yours until now.

I got a lot of train stuff from a estate sale last February I don't always have the coal ramp on the layout. it's not that easy to fined a place for it. I just changed my layout today and the 456 coal ramp is not on the layout. maybe later it will be. It's fun to see what layouts I can come up with. so I make a new layouts often.

I have the first type of the 456 with dark gray base with (braided wire railings). that being said, the metal braided railings can catch the train cars easier than the fishing line railing they later came out with. I never had any issues with this accessory. You do have to wire it up right. I wire it to a RW Postwar transformer, than hook a 2 and a half inch track to the ramp. I insulate that track from the rest of the layout. The 456 uses fix voltage. when hooked up to a RW you want to make sure that fix voltage doesn't go to the rest of the layout or you be feeding the track 2 different volts. (AKA bad) The only thing to learn is the speed going up the ramp. not very easy. it will take time to learn. here's a link of it www.tandem-associates.com/lionel/lionel_trains_456_acc.htm

so which ones work with FasTrack with no modifications?
@CollectorDavid
@CollectorDavid 7 жыл бұрын
roblox84 frist sorry for the late reply. I don't have any fast track, but I am positive it would be the house Corral, all you need is a operating track that has the extra rails, that the gliding shoe, aka the electric pic up, of the house car would come to contact with. Then put the track the right amount of distance between the horse car doors when down, and the Corral and if electric is hook up the right way, this should work. Basically you have a operating track/ track remolt operating the car, and your 8-12 volt transformer powering the Corral. You should have a on / off switch for the Corral, so you can have the horses go and stop on the corral or in the car, when you please. And about the cattel car & Corral, This I know wont work. You see the 3656 cattle corral has two metal pieces in the middle of the corral where the track is, both left and right of the middle power rail. Those are the positive and negative electric that makes the car work at the same time as the Corral. So because of this. There is no way to put the fast track in the green base of the cattel car carral. Where the track normally gose.

The Lionel 681 Turbine's tender has a watering shoot in the middle on the bottom of the tender. in real life, that is the way trains get water at high speeds. also the train gets water when needed.
