I loved learning that Modric got the top individual prize in football, but it is clear that at the end of the day, the true champion remains Messi. He has been doing it for over a decade now, and I am very impressed of how he can keep himself healthy enough to continue his domination of the game. I saw Maradona, Zidane, and so many of the greats, and none of them had the longevity that La Pulga has sustained for over a decade.

He's everything, a goalscorer, assister, dribbler, playmaker.... but he is also a fiery little guy who has real determination and just look at this. Tripper picked up the ball and Messi didn't give up, he fort him like mad with some real fight! Great when many say he is often just walking about. Messi fighting for that ball leading to him falling to the floor and going out of play lead to the final goal and who scored yes.....that man Lionel Messi. Who else?
