@@cquilty1, it doesn't sound like you've watched footage of African painted dogs or hyenas going in for a kill. It's not a spectacle you'll ever forget, they *NEVER* try killing their prey first- they just rip open the belly and eat all the organs before lions can show up to steal their kill. Prey struggling and vocalizing and everything. Lions choke you out or snap your neck when possible, much quicker and much less conscious for what's going down.

As for the method hunting dogs and hyenas use to kill prey, they do what they have to do in order to survive with the tools and artillery they have. It's called nature/the endless cycle and there is no intentional cruelty on the part of the dogs/hyenas, and once more if you don't like it, then don't watch it. There are plenty of examples of lions eating prey alive also, but as with hyenas and dogs, I have no problem with this. And your silence is also deafening re the lioness clearly prolonging the death of the impala in this video.

From Kenya..land of wildlife!The mother impala has a strong scent so she usually runs far from predators.,the newborn impala are usually safely hidden as they lhave no scent at all and if they lie hidden & very still,the predators will not be able to smell & find them..in this case,the lioness spotted them....now you know natures tricks!

lol no there isn't. they're natural prey animals. a certain number of them in each generation serve to provide calories and nutrients to other life. Just like plants provide calories and nutrients to impalas.

For human maybe but this necessary for them to survive and keep the ecosystem healthy they don't kill just to kill , when your stomach is empty doesn't matter what ever you catch your going to eat it , so unless you can go convince lions to become vegan just something you you got to deal with
