Who are the last 2 witnesses? Well, the text does in fact tell us one of the two. And it comes from Jesus' own words. With a little wisdom and deductive reasoning we can pretty confidently conclude the other witness just by the process of elimination. 1) All men must die for their own iniquity (Jer 31:30) The death penalty was enacted for the original sin. (Gen 2:15-17) 2) All men are to die once and then be judged. (Heb 9:27) 👉This is key. Who has not died yet?👈 3) There are only 2 people taken by God. Enoch and Elijah. Neither one has died here on earth so they MUST come back at some point. This is God's law. 4) Not only did Malachi prophecy the returning of Elijah during the end times Jesus Himself told us in clear language in Mark 9:12 and Matthew 11:14 that Elijah will be coming back. The Bible is silent on Enoch returning but we can be assured that God's law will not change. Why it's not Moses. Well, because Moses has already died once (Duet 34:5). So he can't die second time. Seeing Moses with Elijah at the transfiguration of Jesus only proves that Moses and Elijah were in Heaven at that time. Who Jesus was talking to at that time is not an indicator for who returns as the two witnesses. It can only be Elijah and Enoch.

Elijah and the Apostle John??? 👇 *IS THE APOSTLE JOHN STILL ALIVE?* *This Is a Theory (My Sunesis)* *HINT 1:* John 21:21-23 NKJV‬ [21] Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, “But Lord, what about this man?” [22] Jesus said to him, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? John is yet to fulfill his. The next chapter (Revelation 11) is about the ministry of the 2 witnesses. The Prophet Elijah and the Apostle John are the 2 witnesses of the book of Revelation?? Remember, it is very possible for a Christian to live for thousands of years in this terrestrial body. Physical and spiritual death was defeated on the cross. So, is John still alive or was he raptured like Elijah??

Why does God send 2 witnesses? Why did God send 2 angels to Sodom and Gomorrah? Why did God send Aaron and Moses to Egypt? Why did Joshua send two spies into Jericho? To pass fair and righteous judgment. No one can be convicted of a crime punishable by death unless there are at least 2 witnesses. Much like the model God gave us when He and the two angels visited Abraham and Lot, God requires at least two witnesses before a corporal judgment is declared (Deut 17:6, 19:15, Num 35:30, Mat 18:16, 2 Cor 13:1, Jos 2:1). That’s why two angels were sent to Sodom and Gomorrah before the surrounding region was destroyed by God. The same thing will be repeated in the end times as the two witnesses will appear midpoint (Mat 24:15, Dan 9:7) of the tribulation. The Tribulation is God’s judgment and that judgment requires two witnesses by law. They have the power of God’s plagues to “shut heaven and stop the rains, turn water into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague as often as they desire.” (Rev 11:6) These plagues are meant to provoke repentance among the wicked and acknowledge that Jesus is Christ but the wicked will refuse to repent. (Rev 9:20-21, Rev 16:11) When 2 witnesses show up on the scene God's judgment is coming. But His wrath is not meant for His children. Only the wicked. He rescued Lot. He rescued Rahab and all of her household. He rescued the Israelites from Egypt during the plagues. He will rescue you also during the tribulation. Fear not the dreaded Day of the Lord.
