Excellence 👍. I've been thinking about adding a fixed blade EDC ; for reasons unknown to myself. This knife and sheath look about the right size . Great review and nice scenery 👍.

Great looking knife and beautiful sheath. Definately looks like a great knife for camping and bushcraft. With M390 steel you'd have to make sure to have a good diamond sharpener when you are in the field. Thanks for the look see KC and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.

Yeah it's great and it seems very capable. Yeah I mean if you had to sharpen it in the field you would need that but for me I'll just carry a small strop. Thank you

I have one of this and it is great knife but for me, the secondary bevel angle is large and uneven on both sides, so I made it around 18 degrees and now is way better. PS I don't baton with any of my knives, I use a small hatchet for that.

I want the M4 with the hollow grind right now it’s a little bit too thick at the edge I have a Lotta knives 154 CM steel hallowed ground in 390 is 50% tougher than that so they can do it and it will hold up😢

If this knife was made with more proper steel, better heat treatment and better edge and main bevel geometry, it would be the best knife out there! Unfortunately, Lionsteel's heat treatments and blade geometries, are really poor and that's why you pay less than half the price, this knife would cost otherwise. Still a great value, because of it's perfect handle and blade profile designs. Sheaths is also good for the money you pay overall. PS I own custom knives, Semi-custom and so on, however this handle design, is by far the best I ever had on any knife! Italians always are the best designers!!

Interesting. I guess I just haven't used it hard enough. I haven't really had issues with the geometry. It seems to slice very well for me. But I'm not really doing a lot of bushcrafting or things like that. So I hear what you're saying. It sure fits like a glove in my hand. Thanks

@@KnivesFAST It's some other makers, who claim it has a poor heat treatment. So far it holds just fine for me! The extra carbides that M 390 has a ton of them, cut so good, that cover the kind of poor edge geometry! However, those kind of steels, are on the hard and brittle side, that's why they didn't go higher than 60 hrc, that's also why they left it too thick behind the edge. (Edge geometry, adds a lot of edge stability) I'm sure you know that, just mention it! I'm also really happy with the M4, it's 1 of the best knives I've ever used!

One bad review re the heat treatment which did the rounds. It was debunked and an apology given. Cliff Stamp and others covered it on the main forums. A competitor trying to destroy the rep of the company? Gianni knows his stuff, one of the most advanced production facilities of any knife company (they show the LS plant on their Insta page). I'm sure their heat treatment is one of the best in the industry, they also make knives for numerous other companies including US brands. I've numerous LS knives all perform heat treat/steel wise as you'd expect.

@@davidthomson2794 I never said their heat treatment is the worst, but still far from custom or semi-custom levels. You get what you pay for.. They still make them thick behind the edge, when even a 10 Dollar Mora comes with proper geometry.. Do you own at least one Handmade or semi-custom knife, with those steels to be able to compare? And if so, how much have you used them? Both my M4's came at around 59 to 60 but feel max 59, both on stone and on sound. They heat treat them for toughness, because that steel, if was properply heat treated, their edges would chip easier and their blades prone to breakage. I know what I said, If you think, that you paid 150 and got a knife ,that with those materials should cost 300$ at least, then Liosteel not only wouldn't make any money, but they would also put money from their wallet, to make you a knife...

@@greekveteran2715 I own numerous custom knives and a number are from renowned Japanese makers. Although I've some that are 500+ 3-400 will get me a superior knife. I've said what I said which is true. Yes with their M390 they heat treat for toughness although edge retention is still good. Gianni/LS have the knowledge and facilities (multi million pounds/dollars) to get the treat they want and be consistent over and above any custom maker.
