He’s the only character from the American show that’s better than the UK counterpart. And like miles better too. UK Lip was pretty weak, didn’t have a cohesive personality.

@@ComicWriter-ml3qtmore like 80% Helen 20% Lip, Helen is the adult and she knows about his situation and how hard he works & studies to have a better life but all she cared about is getting her fun for that year, Lip has emotional, psychological problems that always guides him the wrong & most toxic path when it comes to women, he’s always “falls” (or thinks it’s love) for the women who most like Monica, Karen and Helen, both blonds who treat him like shit, take advantage of him then they have a moment where they “need” lip and feels like he can save them (because he never could do that with Monica from her own illness) so he gives up everything that matters to him to do so. So yeah I would say it’s 80% Helen, 20% lip. That’s why I stopped at S7, and accept that is the true ending of the show, he’s getting sober, he still wants to go back college, he’s finally with a REAL person who does NOT manipulate him and actually cares for him deeply and he’s finally realizing he deserves a good woman like her. So yeah to me, he gets sober, goes back to college, gets a good job, marries Sierra and that’s his REAL ending. Sorry for the rant

@@nejoudtourki6000 people forget that helene abused him. she was his professor, and that's on top of his history of being mistreated in relationships and taunted with the fantasy of a happy family. he fixates on someone who could give him that and gives up on everything else and lets them mistreat him for that fantasy. he has a lot of love to give, and especially always wanted a child but feels patronised when people try to take care of him back since it's so unfamiliar to him. it makes me wish he had been a bit younger so he could be taken care of like his siblings were taken care of by him and fiona

But life happened for him alternatively and he ended up on an unexpected path; he abandoned the preconceived notion that he’d be the savior of the Gallagher family. Fiona, on the other hand, spent her whole life hustling to provide for her siblings, a surrogate matriarch and martyr of sorts. In the process, she made some considerable strides (notably in Seasons 7-9). Fiona wasn’t necessarily book smart, but she pressed forward through each of her obstacles and ultimately her efforts allowed her the opportunity to leave South Side.

They made him an ass the last season. Deadset on selling the house when not everyone wanted to. Complete 180 from the previous season where he didn’t want to move to Tami’s grandma’s house because he wanted to be with his family. Selling the house was only a short term solution anyway since he’d go into debt with a mortgage he couldn’t afford. At least the Gallagher house and Tami’s grandma house were paid off.
