Be very careful investing in liquid filled records... you must care for them and regularly circulate the liquid or it will dry up and dissolve and essentially ruin the investment. I found this out the hard way! : (

Good idea keeping The Strokes LP sealed. At the time I remember a lot of people saying these were warped on message boards. I opened mine and there is a slight warp, it's nothing terrible... but the record is pretty thin.

i've got number 44 of the strokes newbury comics album. it's really nice to look at - doesn't sound great but is fun to listen to

About a year and a half ago I picked up the original, official pressing of demon days for only $20. Probably my greatest find so far.

My rarest one is the original Brazilian 1993 Jurassic Park Soundtrack, it's not in perfect conditions, but it's amazing anyway! Paid 95$+35$ shipping. The second one, the one I paid most, but not the rarest is the Back to the Future Trilogy box set by Mondo, paid 150$+70$ shipping. To be honest living in Italy is not really good sometimes ahah

Hey Adam, nice Gorillaz-Vinyls but as an gorillaz-collector, I would not say, that these vinyls are rare, because they are bootlegs. The orginal vinyls from 2005/06 were rare, but not this (very nice looking) vinyls. But anyways, always thumbs up for a gorillaz-collector ;)

I do...didn't realize how much the OG copies were selling for. At one time I had all the variants. I think the Pink is the hardest one to find these days.

I used to have that OG Siamese Dream Orange until 2 Christmases ago when I sold it on eBay to fund my girlfriend's Christmas gifts. Such a nice pressing, I remember winning it on eBay years ago for $35. Crazy how fast stuff changes!

I’m a collector as well but one thing that I refuse to do is buy records and put them away and never play them. I want to enjoy the Music first last and always. Collecting is the means to do that and discover new music in the process. I love having valuable records and CDs and I have quite a few, but they all get played and are well taken care of and meticulously cleaned and stored. I have been burned more than once by sealed copies of stuff that was later found to be badly warped or not the pressing indicated, so every thing gets opened and play tested. I will buy an opened copy of a record over a sealed copy any day of the week of a valuable record, especially if the record shop has a turntable that you can listened to it before buying.

Hi Matt, just recently discovered your channel, and have enjoyed going back and watching your videos. I too have an affinity for The National and Pearl Jam. I'm a big Record Store Day guy as well, but my collection is pretty main stream. As for my rarest vinyl, it would have to be my original pressing of The Off's "First Record". It has a very interesting back story. Check it out.

I have the Mellon Collie in the box set! It’s fucking awesome, I paid 35 dollars for it sealed. Which was a crazy deal. Its a great album, any way you can get it. It’s really cool to see these OG pressings though. So cool they were shared with us

curtis murray You said everything I wanted too, but hadn’t had a chance to type. The box set sounds incredible, and is a MUST for any fan. The first repress in 2012 wasn’t great. But this box set, sounds fantastic in my opinion. It’s one of the classic 90s albums, and this is it the way it was meant to be heard, in the right order,

amazingabby25 Thank you. I condensed my original replies into one cohesive reply. Hopefully it reads better. I’m just happy my useless knowledge gained through life experience was able to be of some use to somebody. I love my box set. IMO, it’s the best version of this album. That said, I wasn’t fortunate enough to get it for $35. I was however blessed with a loving younger brother who knew I wanted it and got it for me this past Christmas. 🤘🏻

It happened to be at local thrift store of all places, (I’ve got tons of great records there, it’s called community thrift in SF but they get picked over quick ) SEALED and behind the counter, I grabbed it fast. They had another rare album I wanted last week for only 15 dollars, but someone else had purchased it alreayd

If you have to know, you can get an idea by just looking at the sell data on Discogs. Currently that Gorillaz bootleg has a low price of $100 and a high price of $315. Granted, those prices have come down a bit since Demon Days can be had for $25. He probably paid on the high end of that range.
