You have to check out The Glass Prison by Dream Theater (studio version). It's the first part of 5 songs across 5 albums that chronicle the drummer's (Mike Portnoy) journey through the AA process to overcome alcoholism. Jordan Ruddess the keyboardist was named the best ever by music radar. Was accepted to the Juilliard School of music in the 2nd grade! Mike Portnoy is the greatest living Drummer. John Petrucci is an Elite guitarist. All of Dream Theater went to the Berkeley School of music, except Ruddess.

The guitarist is John Petrucci - best known for being the guitarist in Dream Theater. The drummer is Mike Portnoy - at the time drummer for Dream Theater, and now involved in numerous bands & projects. The keyboard player is Jordan Rudess, who joined Dream Theater shortly after the first Liquid Tension Experiment album - and like everyone else in this "supergroup", has numerous solo albums and collaborations.

The first part, especially when Jordan (the keyboard player) comes in with the piano sound, reminds me so much of bullet hell games, namely Touhou.

Are When the Waters Breaks and State Of Grace , but Dream Theater you must listen , Illumination Theory, Breaking All Illusions, Octavarium, Outcry , Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence suite ( 42 m. ) those mans form another world, Petrucci, Myung, LaBrie , Portnoy, Mangini all Rush fans , and Jordan Rudess is a MONSTER .

Wish I could have seen LTE live. At least I was able to see 3 of these guys rockin' in Dream Theater. Good stuff.

Basically They are Dream Theater with King Crimson’s bassist. But the drummer(Mike Portnoy) left the Dream Theater in 2010. (Dream Theater has been replaced by Mike Mangini who is one of the best drummers in the world, as like Portnoy.)

Dream Theater members John Petrucci (guitar) & Mike Portnoy (drums) were fans of bassist Tony Levin, who had a huge musical history w/ Peter Gabriel, King Crimson, etc... as far back as the 80's, before they were even known as Dream Theater (they were called Majesty before 1989). After Dream Theater became huge in the 90's, they were also fans of Jordan Rudess (keyboards) who was a member of Dixie Dregs and a top session musician. Rudess was offered to join Dream Theater in 1994, but he declined. He got to know the DT members when Dixie Dregs toured w/ Dream Theater. In 1997, Mike Portnoy put together a session w/ John Petrucci to jam instrumentally w/ Tony Levin and Jordan Rudess for fun... they managed to produce 2 albums worth of fusion music that they released as Liquid Tension Experiment in 1998 and 1999. The sales & response was so encouraging that they offered Jordan Rudess to join Dream Theater again, and this time he accepted, replacing their keyboardist at the time - Derek Sherinian. A third LTE album finally came together in 2021 during the covid-19 pandemic... by this point, Mike Portnoy had quit Dream Theater (in 2010), and Petrucci was enthusiastic about working w/ Portnoy again in musical projects outside of Dream Theater... John Petrucci also used Portnoy to play drums on his last solo instrumental album 'Terminal velocity' in 2020.
