Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. Jazakallahu khayran for the explanation. Apparently some DeFi does provide lending services for their LPs to increase returns, but it always good to learn more about the fundamentals so that we have a better grasp of the technologies.

Wa alaikum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu ya akhi! Thanks for always putting out such good content for the halal minded modern investors, barakallahu fikum in these blessed 10 days of Dhul hajj. I was reading about impermanent loss this week and this helps put it in perspective. DeFi is very novel and exciting but riddled with very thin lines between halal and haram to the Muslim, its a priceless resource to have you to throw more light about these developments so the ummah isn't left behind. Thank you very much for illustrating this concept in detail, and I want to bring one more thing to your interest, that is that some DEXs provide some custom tokens (like CAKE I think) to liquidity providers as compensation for providing liquidity apart from the swapping fees, is this part also HALAL or HARAM, given that most of those tokens would be provided based on time (how long they provided the liquidity for) not based on actual trades? really appreciate your response

It is haram. Because even if you close the trade before 8h ()to avoid riba () the fact that you are taking a loan from Binance to trade in Binance then Binance takes the fees or liquidates your money is in fact haram

@@waelferrari adding to your answer in futures trading you are not buying and holding something and making profit when price goes up (like spot trading). You are basically betting on the price of something that if the price goes up I will get profit(long) or if the price goes down you get profit(short) and else ways you get liquidated

@@tariqhussain3371 Hi Tariq. There's no halal investment, I'm 100% sure. I used to work Banks that called Islamic 🏦 believe me they changed shirt to Islamic from conventional shirt. That is all they do and by the way conventional Banks are more cheaper in cost than Islamic bank. If you asked me which one you prefer to deal with I will say traditional banks because the cost is much cheaper.
