Creative Production and Training Centre (CPTC) was my early training ground in broadcasting. Many of you would remember me hosting Rappin. The irony is that I have the privilege of being the Minister with responsibility for CPTC, one that I do not take that lightly. After I won the Miss Jamaica World pageant in 1993 Mr. Wycliffe Bennett thought it would be a good idea for CPTC to do a Profile on me. It aired on television before I went to compete at Miss World.
So many memories with this profile. Enjoy this video aired some 23 years ago. You will recognize some very prominent Jamaicans. I have had a full life and I am so thankful for all my experiences, all along I have grown up under your watchful eyes.

My father used to say her voice doesn't match her face and it made her beautiful. She has this serious, mature and sophisticated tone but when you look at her she's a doll. And it's true

Such a Classy Beautiful Jamaican Woman from Her Early Days!!! Rappin was such a great Show for Teens Back in the 80's / 90's ......

Rappin’ This teen magazine programme aired on JBC in the late 1980s to early 1990s. It featured panel and group discussions with high school students, as well as outings to schools across the island. Hosts included Lisa Hanna, who went on to win the Miss World title in 1993 and is now Jamaica’s Minister of Youth and Culture, and Simone Clarke - now Mrs Clarke-Cooper, co-host of Smile Jamaica and a successful communications professional. ....

To compare bb. Pilipinas world 1993 and miss jamaica world 1993,in terms of beauty and skin complexion bb, is much better, until now!!!

Lol That is an interesting idea. The Filipina was a nice girl but didn’t that girl place all the way in 3rd place, almost 27 years ago. Perhaps a better comparison would be to other 3rd place or below finalists. I would have placed Croatia 2nd or 3rd that year. Lovely Filipina perhaps 5th. I agree that Miss Philippines certainly had a lovely complexion as well, different and lovely as well. Perhaps she could have won that infamous “Creamy White Complexion” award at Miss International but that is a different contest.
