This song is a delicate and powerful beautiful puzzle of creativity and technical innovation - I dare say their joyful giggles at the end reflect the sense of having discovered and captured something so special and outside of songwriting in almost any genre. Does jazz change keys and flip major and minor? Sure, but not quite like this that I have ever heard. Does blues slide between major and minor? Yeah but again in a very specific and now derivative way..... this ain’t that. Find a single pop song or folk song that covers similar harmonic ground if you can and let us know.

Nothing. That is in, quite literally, almost every blues song you've ever heard. This Pedal Point, Minor to Major modulation is exceedingly basic and has been used since the 1700s - it's literally laughable that you pose new ground has been broken. You can get away with a 58 on an alto... once you get up into the upper register, you're just making trouble for yourself, but down where she was you're fine. I was impressed by the guitar sound, myself. There was a LOT of help going on in the processing... but it ended up awesome, so no complaints from me.

Yes-tack sharp sound engineering all around on this song and the other tracks in this spacious room. The unison parts are breathtakingly precise and heartfelt too. Sigh.

You can even hear Loah when she grins after the first chorus :)

It's an incredible feedback loop between these two artists. It elevates what is already an excellent performance from each of them into a kind of rapture that bolsters the whole of the song. Gorgeous.
