@@PieNumber4sometimes the Simpsons has non-canon (as if there was much focus on that in the first place lol) episodes where they wanna write a story even if it wouldn't work with future episodes. Typically these episode show up as part of the Halloween "treehouse of horror" specials which don't concern themselves with maintaining the status quo and can do all kinds of wacky or downright show-ending stuff, like killing off all the main cast with zombies or Homer turning into a murderer and killing his wife or what have you, it'll all be ignored next episode anyway so they go crazy as much as they like
