I like the gingerbread cooking class and the certificate you received. That is very cool. I like the spicy taste of gingerbread...I have a 1951 Russian SKS rifle built in the Tula arsenal. This is the same rifle that the guards of honor carry at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier monument at the Moscow Kremlin Wall. I am very proud of this rifle. It is a real part of Russian History and it is 73 years old....🤍💙❤

Gingerbread cooking class would have been fun. There is a lot to like about the towns of Russia. They hold onto and value traditions that are far better than modern day practice. So much of these traditional arts, crafts, practices are now rare in the west. This value of the traditional is a great trait of Russia. Enjoyed your Tula tour - Thanks.

That's got to be the most interesting vlog you have posted because you manage to include so much detail, facts and nostalgia. It is a shame that some of the old houses are not being preserved because they open a window into the distant past and how previous generations lived. The same fate happened to most of the siheyuan courtyard houses in Beijing! It's good to remember our ancestors and also know something about them and where they lived! Glad that you got back to Moscow safely. 👍

Lisa, I loved seeing the old original part of the city. The historical stuff fascinates me. I am also happy that you showed us the part of the city that didn't look so good, yet judging from the woodwork we could see and the designs of the places, I imagine that a few decades ago, it looked a lot better than it does today. While I love seeing that they're replacing all of the bad structures with new ones, I oftentimes feel that the new structures don't have as much character as stuff made long ago, but that's just my opinion. I loved seeing you make Gingerbread and am curious, what is the liquid you poured into the middle of it? It's not something I see done here in the States, so I'm curious what it was. Anyway, thank you for showing us more of the country. I know you're heading home soon for a while. I look forward to you showing us all of your favorite places to see when you're back home. Take care and keep smiling!

All the Baltic peoples have clean cities (Russians are the Swedish-Finnish people who speak the Slavic language), for example, the Russian city of Kemerovo (in Siberia) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bpp2qcSduNjQgIU.html . But. Unlike the neighbors of the Finns, Estonians and Swedes, many other peoples of the non-Baltic group live in Russia (they are not so clean), so it is more difficult for Russians to keep order in this sense (thus, if Russia were a mono-national state, it would be much cleaner).

In every city or town on earth there are some neighborhoods that are run down; this type of housing could be called a haunted street, and so Lovely Lisa you may have experienced a sneaking feeling that someone was watching you. Your courage to walk down these streets is commendable as you showed an obscure side of small town life in Russia.

Michael Kors bags used to be made of soft leather but now, most of them are made of a somewhat tough rigit leather.I also don't like the strap on them,it's too sporty,I like it to be more elegant. You are right. But I'm drawn towards Michael Kors.

You've visited Tula in a very bad weather conditions: cold and windy. Nobody wanted to smile or to be relax :) Tula has always been among the top 10 major cities of the Russian Empire in the 19th and 20th century. Therefore, there are still a lot of old houses of the 19th century. This is a problem of Tula. The owners of these old houses do not want to renovate them. They're just waiting for their house to be demolished. The authorities will pay them money to buy an apartment in a new building. They have been waiting for this for about 40-50 years. This problem is being successfully solving during the last 10 years. Tula has always been an industrial city. It produces weapons and military pieces and a very very large cast iron factory. So Tula has a good museum of weapons, a good historical museum and a new Patriot defense museum. But tourism has never been a strong point in Tula. There were producing also scooters of Tula brand and an accordion factory in Tula in USSR. Tula does not have an unusual landscape or seacost like Vladivostok. Even the Upa River in Tula is a small river. I've known Tula for a long time. Locals do not often use downtown, since Tula consists of 5 remote areas and each area has its own infrastructure. The Tula center is good as a historical one, I think I'll take a last look at the old ones. The center of Tula consists of several streets - Lenin Avenue, Krasnoarmeysky Avenue and Boldina Street The modern districts of Tula are located in the south-west in the area of Leroy Merlin and Globus, there are many new 20-storey buildings in it. There is a piece of city vibe. The new federal military boys Suvorov School. Public transport does not run well in Tula after 8 pm also.

"Its very similar to Vladivostok" - I'm in my 40's and have travelled much of my own country now, and I will say very similar things. I could be in Bend, Oregon and say "this reminds me so much of Flagstaff, Arizona". It is funny that you are a well-travelled person who does the same, even if the comparison is your home town.
