Very very true! It was the same for us! Broken, fearful, strong willed, each one alone against the world. We went on our knees individually and sought God to fix our hearts and pains and fears individually. When we learned to love God first, our marriage completely healed. To Him be the glory! Amen!

God is your refuge. He still does miracles. Me and my husband went through the same and being on the other side now. Has been incredible. Things did not get better for us until we began to pray together and attend church together, along with me having to focus on me changing for the better of our marriage regardless of what my husband was doing or not doing. I had to entrust him to God. Entrust your spouse to the Lord. Like my husband says, God is pro-Marriage and pro-family. No matter where you are a year later no matter what has happened you can still walk in the purpose in which God has set for you, hopefully and I pray for you, that it's with your wife💙 and if not that you would experience God's redemption and goodness in the best way

Thank you so much for being so honest and for sharing your testimony. Let love have its way ♥️ I am waiting on God to restore my soul and my broken marriage. I know He is the only one that can. Meanwhile (3 years of separation and countless trials), the Lord has been working on my heart and I am sure He is working on my husband's heart too. This testimony, although much different to my situation, gives me a lot of hope. Thank you John and Lisa. God bless you 🥰🙏

Up until this morning, and I told my mom that her marriage has me questioning marriage. But God, and I know that both of your testimonies are healing gates for other souls! Thank God! I too am living in the aftermath of a lot of pain from both my husband's and my dysfunctional behavior. God is restoring, but how do you keep going when still living in the reminders of it. It's hard to want to start another sometimes.

Well my wife abandoned me and our kids. We were married 10 years and coming up on our 10 year anniversary she left. This was July 1, 2023 and yeah. I tried to get her to go to marriage counseling but she started worshiping the world and I turned to God and we fell apart. I prayed, fasted, fought and she filed for divorce. Now I’m fighting to keep my kids safe. She doesn’t even want them she’s just trying to punish me. I let her have her freedom and yet she blames me. I didn’t turn from God and she hates me for it.

God will take what the enemy meant for evil and turn it around for your good. Pour all your attention on a close relationship with Jesus and being the best Father you can be. Don’t try to beg her to stay. This is not something you can do in your own strength. Let her do what she wants to do. Only God can change her heart. You pour yourself into Him☝🏽. Let Him hold your hand through this. Let Him show you how to love and parent your kids through this. The enemy wants to cause your kids to be scarred, broken, and dysfunctional because of this but God will redeem it and you’ll come out better than you were before. It may take time but God will do it. I’ve seen this happen with my Father-in-law and it still shocks me how God restored his life. He gave him a wonderful new wife, the kids turned out healthy and whole with beautiful families of their own. They all love and adore him. He enjoys his life, has a beach home and winter home. Travels all around visiting the grandkids and just enjoying himself. God will do the same for you, just stick with Him. Read these scriptures: Isaiah 43: 1-2; Prov. 3:5-6.

Yes, Lisa was the irrational one with a lamp in her hand when her husband physically pushed her to make her sit down... no. Way to downplay his actions. I think that is called a human response to someone not only trying to mentally control you but physically control you. HE was the aggressor. Although neither’s behavior is what we want in a godly marriage, I think we need to recognize the truth of the matter here. I think if you are going to tell your story under the guise of being an open book do it honestly. This man as a husband has really challenged her as a wife time and again and she has been a remarkable example of forgiveness. I see that she stood her ground, but I’m sad to see her downplay his aggression in this presentation. I agree that if your husband cheats you do need to forgive, but I learned that a husband can use that forgiveness to repeat his behavior time and again. Staying in the marriage is NOT the best option for everyone and God does not expect anyone to stay when a spouse is not changing and actually turning to Christ. I spent 28 years forgiving and staying and it got me no where but devastated. Then God brought me out of the darkness. We are always called to forgive, but there are guidelines on reconciliation. We are not always called to reconcile.

The entire point of Jesus dying on the cross is forgiveness. It doesn't make the actions right but forgiveness is at the core of Christianity. Both were at fault, he mentioned in a moment where she threw plates at him. God changed both of these people for the better and showed them both how they were wrong. When they reconciled they were different people that ultimately found forgiveness in eachother thanks to God. It just shows how much we need God and we need to pursue being christ-like every day

Then what am I supposed to do when my husband decided to leave the household and abandon me with a 1 year old baby? Even when I tried to get help he wasn´t interested, until this day his idea is that he's just fed up, there's nothing to be done with the relationship, and he wants to get a divorce. I know I need to let God change my heart and heal a lot of areas that are hurt and broken, to restore the relationship I once had, the thing is around me there are two types pf people: the ones who say, maybe the divorce is the best answer for both of you and God can give you a a good man, and the ones who say pray for your marriage and believe God can make the miracle and restore. But how am I supposed to pray for my marriage if he still insists he doesn't want anything to do with me and that he doesn't love me anymore... What about my baby, what about me?

I'm so sorry to hear of your pain. Words can never adequately describe that kind of pain, but God is greater than all our problems, and we're still responsible for doing what's right. Instead of looking to people for advice, why not go to God's Word and see what it says? There is only one acceptable reason given in the Bible for a divorce--adultery--but even a relationship wounded by that can be restored (of course, it's outside your control if your spouse chooses to divorce you). CBN has posted some testimonies on KZfaq of restored marriages that include ones that dealt with affairs. But Jesus said remarrying after divorce while your spouse is alive is adultery. Besides that, separation, rather than divorce, is an option if God leads you to do that. The verses on these topics and their reasons are more fully explained here: www.biblestudytools.com/bible-study/topical-studies/what-did-jesus-say-about-divorce.html About how to pray for your marriage, have you heard of the movie "War Room"? It's a powerful story of a woman who learns how to pray for her troubled marriage. I hope it encourages you.

You are supposed to get well and be the best parent to your child. Get into sound counselling to help you deal with everything in a healthy way. If you can, move near your support system. By supportive I mean the people you know you could call in the middle of the night if something was wrong with either you or your child. One/people who could watch your child if you needed to work a bit late or study. Or simply to take a walk, to breathe. Surround yourself with those who genuinely love you and your child. That is what you need to surround yourself with so you could build yourself back up. It's 11 months since you wrote this, I hope you are in a better place emotionally and that your Baby is well too. Peace

Also what happens if you did end up using the lamp stand. And what if you have been praying for 15 years and get only silence. It's easy to say that we pray and don't get because we ask only to satisfy our selfish desires but there comes a point where you have to say : "I don't know how to turn my heart anymore to God". I've prayed, cried, confessed, repented, surrendered. It has been 15 years and this weekend I almost saw a prostitute because I cannot the pain anymore.

As a wife, I say love her back to life. Be a light! Don't nag or beg her to do anything. Simply love her as Christ loves the church. If you treat her like a queen, she will treat you like a King. Pray for her salvation. It's the will of God that all men be saved.

The New Testament says to stay with her as long as she is willing to live with you; and if she leaves, let her go: 1 Corinthians 7:10-17: "10To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. 11But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife. 12To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If a brother has an unbelieving wife and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. 13And if a woman has an unbelieving husband and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. 14For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his believing wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy. 15But if the unbeliever leaves, let him go. The believing brother or sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you to live in peace. 16How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife? 17Regardless, each one should lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him and to which God has called him. This is what I prescribe in all the churches.". Remember Philippians 4:13 that you can do all things through Christ who gives you the strength, and the rest of Phillipians 4, especially verses 4-8. Also, remember that the joy of the Lord is our strength, as it says in Nehemiah 8:10. Also, remember 1 John 1:9, 2 Chronicles 20:15, Psalms 1, 23, 34, 37, 91, 100, and pray the Lord's prayer when you can't think what to pray. Praying in the spirit can help, too. Look up encouraging verses, too, such as Hebrews 4:15-16: "15For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin. 16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." I think doing daily spiritual warfare prayers will make a difference for you, and for your children, and most likely also for her and for your marriage. It will take time, and things may intensify, but that just means you are over the target. God will help you. Pray. Please consider learning spiritual warfare immediately, if you haven't already, and doing more of it if you have, and getting intercessors/prayer warriors/ other Christians praying for you, your marriage, and your family consistently, asap. It is urgently needed in your situation. It is important. You are dealing with demonic spiritual attacks, probably nearly constantly. I have been spiritually attacked and had to learn, and am still learning. Mike Thompson has been in ministry over 40 years, and has a podcast teaching people spiritual warfare, and about their 3rd Heaven authority: www.charismapodcastnetwork.com/show/3rdheavenauthority. John Ramirez has written books and has an online class, and has multiple talks and interviews here on KZfaq. Russ Dizdar has free online material teaching spiritual warfare, at shatterthedarkness.net. He has 20+ years of spiritual warfare experience. Scroll down a little, and the audios are posted there. You can hear Derek Prince teach on spiritual warfare and deliverance right here on You Tube, and pray for entire congregations at a time after the sermon. David Heavener as well. Start watching You Tube videos on spiritual warfare, and play the prayers as well. Russ and Derek have gone to be with the Lord, but have left behind very valuable information, teachings, prayers, audios, and videos. Also, turning on Christian music, like praise and worship music will help, also, and/or singing to God yourself. Demons hate that and leave, and it invites in God's presence. God inhabits the praises of his people, and Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and God is love. Feel free to leave Christian music radio or songs on somewhere at home 24/7, if you can and find it helpful. John Eldredge describes having to do spiritual warfare to save his marriage. Nothing else had worked, and he was a licensed counselor at the time, and they were both Christians, and he nevertheless had to learn to kick out demons and learn spiritual warfare to save his marriage. I read that in his book Wild At Heart. The basic idea, per the Bible book of James, chapter 4, is to humbly submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you, and draw near to God and he will draw near to you. You will need to draw your strength from God and from the body of Christ. Also, perhaps post Isaiah 40:31 where you can see it, along with other helpful Bible verses, Romans 8:28 as well. Remember that without Jesus, you can do nothing - John 15:4-5 "4“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing." Remember that "With God, all things are possible" - Matthew 19:26. Earthquake Kelley Ministries has teaching videos right here on you tube. You can also call him for spiritual help. His number is on his videos, and he also has a website and books. Neil Anderson has written books about the topic. There are others. I read one book that was 350 pages long written by a Catholic guy, also. There is a book by John Eckhardt called Prayers That Rout Demons: Prayers for Defeating Demons and Overthrowing the Powers of Darkness, and there is an audio of it here on KZfaq: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ndRhdZV5mbmal6s.html. These are prayers that are based off Bible verses, and the video goes for hours. Start playing prayers. Carlos Oliveira here on youtube has some hours long prayers for deliverance right here on You Tube that you can just start playing, if you are interested. He also has a deliverance ministry. You can call him up, or go to his website. Evangelist Fernando Perez has long deliverance prayers on here, too, and a ministry as well. I think Gabriel Fernandes does, also. Isaiah Saldivar has videos on here, and has a deliverance ministry also, possibly including local people near you. Look up Donna Rigney ministries in Florida. They have 43 trained deliverance ministers last I heard, and you can schedule an appointment in advance, and they reserve weekend appointments for those coming from far away, and you can also schedule an online appointment: donnarigney.org/prayer. People come from all over the world there for prayer for healing and deliverance. Miracles are happening. Last Reformation Ministries, also on KZfaq and Rumble, may have some people in your area willing to come pray for you and your family also, and do deliverance, and they even come to people's houses to help people get saved and baptized and delivered. Joseph Prince has a book on spiritual warfare, too. There are a lot of ministries and there is a lot of information available. These are not the only options. Pray about what God wants you to do. You will need to learn spiritual warfare, and get deliverance, and know how to keep it, no matter what happens with your marriage. You will need to learn what spiritual doors to close in your life to take back spiritual ground ceded to the devil and demons, and will need to learn other things as well. Memorize and post somewhere and quote to yourself out loud passages like Ephesians 6:10-18, 1 John4:4 "" and also, I Peter 5:5-11, and James 4, especially verses 6-10. Also, Galatians chapters 5 and 6, especially 6:9, about not growing weary in well doing: "9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." And Hebrews 4:12 talks about how powerful God's word is. And 2 Corinthians 5:21 talks about us becoming the righteousness of God in Christ, so our breastplate of righteousness in Ephesians comes from Christ, as does the belt/skirt of truth. Jesus is the truth. Of course our helmet of salvation comes from him, and the sword of the spirit is the word of God and Jesus is the word made flesh. And regarding the shield of faith, Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). So, abiding in Christ is a big part of our spiritual warfare and spiritual armor. I am one of your sisters in Christ, and I will be sending up some prayers for you and her and your children and your marriage. Also, get lots more prayer support. Call or write Christian ministries that have prayer ministries, and get them praying for you and your marriage and family, on a regular basis. If you need to call multiple prayer chains every day, do it. They will keep praying with you and for you, and you will know that you have spiritual support, no matter what time of day or night. Julie Green Ministries International at www.jgminternational.org/ has a powerful prayer team, as does Marty Grisham at rumble.com/c/LoudMouthPrayer, and Richard Roberts Ministries richardroberts.org/prayer/, Marilyn Hickey Ministries marilynandsarah.netviewshop.com/prayer, Donna Rigney ministries donnarigney.org/prayer, CBN, TBN, Billy Graham ministries, and so many more. TBN's www.tbn.org/blog/how-can-we-pray-you-today and CBN's www1.cbn.com/prayer , and Billy Graham's lp.billygraham.org/bgea-prayer-line/, and some others are open, with people there to pray for and with you, 24/7.
