That happened to me once in Phoenix Arizona; just really long lines (queues) to go through Security etc. Had to run to the plane like you. Made it! Whew!!!

In the US, it's the passenger's responsibility to make it to the gate and board during the transfer. Passengers need to prepare for at least two hours to pass through the passport control and reload luggage for the next domestic flight.

I used to love amst schipol airport for the (japanese) noodle n sushi bar! (just tranfers to HK) but they went n refurbished n they got cancelled out gone :(
