The thing I love the most about Martinez is that he serves as a proof that talent, conviction and hard-work win against bias. How many times have we been told we need to have certain physical attributes to play or fulfill an specific role? He is still dealing with those biased comments, but he is very strong mentally and will overcome them. Hopefully his case can help other men that also have to deal with biased people

That match against Liverpool was so important to how our season turned out. Every team at that point had a target on the back of Martinez, you could see everybody smelling blood and coming for the kill when they played united. There was only one way to defend and that was be super agressive, confidence was lacking at that moment but for sure kick the shit out of anybody... Over the season he has toned it down, teams do not longer spawn long balls over the top to his side of the pitch, most premier league attackers now even respect him when face to face and united as a team do not get as heavily pressed as we did start of the season. Lisandro has had to earn every bit of it, he's a true warrior, so glad to have him in my team.
