Hi welcome to Ballina and Lismore.
As you all know Lismore was hit with 2 floods in 2022 ,badly crippling the city and the entire area.Mum and I take a look around at Lismore 11 months later,now I didnt want to only show Lismore's damaged areas so at the end I have added the footage I took just before I left Lismore to start my big adventure.So like I said this is a bit different.
I t was Mum's 90th so the family got together to celebrate,great to catch up with everyone.

Thank you for this video. I am watching it 2024 June most of the shop now re opened only a few still shut. ❤Lismore. As a new resident (7 years in December) I am very proud how the people battled on. 🎉🎉🎉 Congratulation to all the helpers big giant thank you🫂💃🕺 Lismore lives on. Can not keep good people down for long. 💐💐💐

Hi Chris, thanks,I didn't want to film too much as I know enough people were going around filming, the 2021 footage was unused footage that I didn't get around to making into a video.Im sure a lot more of Lismore has reopened by now.Thanks Bill.

G'day Bill. Now I know why you were in a bit of a rush these last few weeks, getting back home to help celebrate your mum's 90 th Birthday. I can guess how important it was to catch up with the family, well done. I've never seen Lismore, except for what was on TV during the floods. It's going to be a long while till the City completely recovers. Thanks for showing me around your home town Bill. Stay safe, looking forward to seeing your next video. Smokey

Hi Smokey thanks, yes it was the reason for a quick drive north,my brother and his family flew over from Karratha, and we gathered at my Sister's and Husband's home to celebrate, sad about Lismore some of those buildings won't be occupied again due to undermining but hopefully business's can restart,thanks until next week,lots of drone footage I think.

😊The amount of water in Lismore was beyond comprehension. Lives and livings changed forever now . There was some talk about relocation? Happy belated 90 th to your Mum, she looks terrific. Look forward to your Northern Tablelands stuff.

Nice video once again Bill. The height of those floods was incredible and I could only imagine the widespread heartache in this lovely city. I’d be tempted to relocate upstream to Kyogle or maybe even Tenterfield! My best wishes to your mother as well as she enters her 90’s! Look forward to the granite country! Greatly appreciate your amazing photography!

Hi Kris thanks, it was great to see so much family again,it turns out that when I was looking at the big flood gauge ,I only read 12 metres but apparently the flood reached even higher at over 14 metres ,all the Northern NSW countryside has a lot to offer,I have some nice scenery I think.thanks Bill.

1) I liked how you mentioned Her Majesty stayed in the pub in Lismore. Long live the Queen, oops, The King... 2) You're mum looks very lively and healthy. She obviously didn't spend her earlier days eating seed oils, refined carbs, sugar and processed foods. I wish her good health and prosperity. 3) Thank you for showing the war service memorials. My grand father was in Borneo. 4) I look forward to the upcoming Granite Country videos. Perhaps we might even learn the secret of Captain Thunderbolt's hide-out ? haha LOL :-) Take care Bill :-)

Hi Ade,thanks I didn't feel too comfortable filming Lismore recently as they would of had their share of rubber rubberneckers, the memorials in Lismore are well designed and maintained, Lismore is doing its best to get back on track,Mum is very active and yes a very healthy diet too,there seems to be many locations for Captain Thunderbolt ,I wonder if they are all genuine, anyway can't wait to have a look,take care Bill

Feb 2022 flood was close to 14.5m, well above 12.5m. You can see why locals were caught out. Right up to the night before was expected under 12m, then at early hours of the morning was getting over 14m.

Hi Sunny,must of been heartbreaking to see the town go under that much,Mum corrected me on flood height later,to look right up at the 12 meter mark and knowing it was over 2 meters further. Hope more shops and homes are reopening. Thanks Bill.
