Good evening from here in Nigeria, please about the new caregiver pilot program, can someone use GCE results and do i need to do ECA for the GCae so as to be equivalent to Canadian High School Diploma

We are waiting for further information about this visa route. The Canadian government has not shared all the details so I cannot accurately answer your questions. Here is my guess, yes you can use GCE and you will need to evaluate your GCE. Google to find out whether GCE is considered equivalent to Canadian High School Diploma before you do an evaluation. First, visit the jobsites of the care job you seek and find out the courses they require. You might find out that some of the courses are already covered in your clinical practice or current nursing certification. All the best!

@@nikkielawford8000 You can correct without insulting anyone on the internet. You can provide alternatives that Canadian employers want. In my opinion, it’s better to have a care certificate from your country than none when you are looking for a job in Canada. Can you kindly provide alternatives that are recognised in by Canadian employers?

@@shukoorullahbaig2921 I don’t know. If you mean for evaluation by WES, I don’t know and really do not think so because it might not be equivalent to a high school diploma. On the other hand, I suggested that when applying for caregiving jobs, an employer is likely to select someone who has caregiving qualifications than someone that doesn’t have any. It is left for the employer to decide. I can’t speak for every employer that you submit an application to. All the best!

@@shukoorullahbaig2921 That is great. They should have all the registration done. Wait for the government to state clearly all the documents they need for your visa application. Of course, an offer letter is important. Anything I write here will be speculation because the Canadian government has not stated whether the offer letter should be sent directly to you or the government. I don’t know for sure.
