I like that song I’m 76 years old I’m just beginning to understand life I don’t think no one understands everything two things try not to have self-pity and like the song says keep trying never give up I was American Vietnam very traumatic I came home married 20 years my wife is killed in a car accident remarried she died of cancer my second wife 20 more years of marriage lost two children mother father brother sister I’ve had 150 jobs in the last 50 years but I haven’t given up yet and I never will I love life even with all the tragedies

This song hit me pretty hard! I'm at a really low point in my life, struggling with one of my deepest wounds in life: what I call the "father wound". Having a father who was there physically, but never emotionally. I always felt like I was never good enough in his eyes - always feeling the need to strive to earn his love and approval, and never receiving what I so desperately needed! I still break into pieces when this particular pain breaches the surface. 💔😭

This year I was going to give up on all my exams due to COVID, but then one of the fearless soul song called never giving up came up on my feed. I went through a divorce I should say an ugly divorce. But I don't dwell on the negativity of it. I found an old farmhouse. That had enough property to keep my animals. I had to restore it. Down to the studs and the foundation. Just a little woman, Folks on the outside kept telling me you can't do this by yourself. I said y'all go over there and watch me. They didn't know the secret that I knew . I didn't have a choice. I had to make it happen. And I was a carpenter and I knew friends. I never doubted that I couldn't do it. looking back, I don't know how I did it. It was just sheer willpower and the great one above. If you have no doubt in yourself, you can accomplish The Impossible. And it's not impossible.

Everyone I ever loved and supported just used me to their own advantage. I sacrificed my life for my family, in end, they abandoned me when they were okay. I love at the wrong places.
